We will know much more about the South stand come July of this year. It will either be blasted all over the media or it won't. Its got a great chance of becoming a reality now that the North stand project's problem's have been overcome, notwithstanding the Council!
There still remains the Mexican stand-off between the Allam's and the Council, but it seems even that has been softened by the North stand 'effect' AND new government directives.
Whilst the whole project is subject to obtaining grant-funding, it actually hinges on the complexities of land ownership re MS3CP, and the even more complex intricate workings of corporate/Council interests in MS3CP. In other words, the Allam's and other investors (from hospitality and retail industries) want freehold - the same arrangement as the West Park proposal.
Under new directives (from the Camerloon-led coalition) such requests for land from local authorities by private enterprise is to be looked on far more favourably than previously. I do know Allam snr's vision of a sports village is not necessarily confined to West Park. He wants to leave a legacy in all four corners of Hull and I think someone is selling the idea of him building the sports village in this way.
