look i created this to see what rovers fans think about wilkin and if they would like him at rovers not for a sts fan to moan about everything who cares what you have won stop living in the past you ant won anything this season and this season we beat you. so what have you got to say now then
Without all the nonsense.
Wilkin is a good player with the ball in hand. The problem is that the WC showed us the way forward for RL and for a top class back rower it is about playing as a third/fourth prop as it were. Basically the responsibility is to make hard yards and tackle all day. Jon Wilkin doesn't do this, he is exceptional when the likes of Graham, Cayless, Cunningham and co have won the territory battle and made the yards but Wilkin is a passenger if this doesn't happen (for instance Leeds in the GF and for England in the WC).
There is no room in a top side for a showboat back rower, that role has gone. Wilkin either needs to bulk up massively and start taking the ball in and contiinuously topping the tackle count, revert to some form of a stand off or move to a side where they will allow a ball playing back row forward. The problem with this is that none of the top sides will have it so there would then be the possibility of seeing him back at HKR.
In terms of your post, nobody has won anything this season yet so that points matters not. Ive seen it all before with people writing St Helens off, you lot are just the next in a long line. We and Leeds still contain the majority of the best players in British RL, hence why we are the 2 favourites. Saints regularly start slowly as well so losing once to a poor side will not worry anyone. The game against Leeds in a couple of weeks will show us where we are and where we need to be, funnily enough I am quietly confident for the game.
