| Quote Rupert Pupkin="Rupert Pupkin"Thaler had a very poor game, kept Bradford in it with some very strange decisions!
We deserved both points on offer and not just the one got.
Bradford - they were exactly what I expected from them, good go-forward from their pack but pretty clueless in the backs.
Our defensive display was a credit, we defended our own line solidly. Although Thaler gave plenty of confusing penalties we didnt help ourselves out with a fair amount of handling errors. I thought our kicking game could have been better yesterday.
I thought Newton was rock solid in defence but MOTM for me was clearly Briscoe, he made one error all game and if he was another yard closer to the Newton(think it was him)break in the second half, he could have easily added a try to his game.
I think both teams will be pretty happy with the result, Rovers more so as Bradford will be a difficult place this season to get any sort of result. Both teams also have plenty of improvement in them.'"
IMOH Brisc played OK but he made three bad errors, one from a high ball, dropping a pass from Ben Fisher that should have resulted in a try and also knocking on near our line. But typical Briscoe pulls off a couple of try savers...100% effort tho'
My MOM was Walker who has continued to impress me this season.. absolutley rock solid in defence and with some good offloads
Plenty to build on with a defence like that. A big improvement looks possible

I dont see any mistakes Briscoe makes
I forget to mention another well done to Welham, I know a try was scored in his corner but the kid is showing a huge amount of maturity. He never had many attacking chances yesterday but once again looked solid in defence.
Same with Chev yesterday, no crazy sprints out of the defensive line and getting caught out of position, kept his head well and had a very good game!

He'll certainly have to have a big game on Friday night.
Thought Galea was outstanding and was my MOTM.

| Wheeldon will have to grab his chance and slot in! If he plays solidly - our pack can be switched often without fear of disrupting the squad.
Though saying that, JM is correct - he is basically irreplaceable Vella.

Great game yesterday to get our season underway (the weather eventually played in our favour!) Defence on the line was great, how bradford never went in more than they did is unbelievable. Was good to see players we missed last season back on the field & getting stuck in.
KR site says Vella has a strained knee www.hullkr.co.uk/news.php hopefully we’ll see him back on the pitch soon, here’s to a quick recovery for him.

| thought Scott Murrell was motm, followed by Fox who for me to his limited chances very well and then Walker whos defence has improved massively compared to last season.

| mom for me was clint newton, he was outstanding throughout despite bombing that try off his break, but would agree that galea, walker, murrell, foxy and dobbo were all outstanding too.

I thought he was solid defensively along with the rest of the team.
Our forwards had a real hard time against one of the best packs in the division. I was worried about our go-forward at times and the speed of the play of the ball but we were dominated in the forwards and found it hard going. It never helps when you have on of SL's best forwards missing for a fair period.
