That's a bit presumptuous of Clarkson, I would offer him a deal for a tenner a week to reflect his worth.

Clear out the deadwood and build towards the middle 8's. You don't have to have all of your players in place for the season's start

Very true, as Leigh showed with a late flourish of recruitment this year. We should take a long hard look at their strategy to conserve spend until it's needed from August onwards.
