The Peter Fox try was sublime! He was waiting right on the edge of the touchline on the same lining as the post. Gardner was about 15metres infront of him defending. Rovers had a scrum and Dobson placed it into the corner, I even think it was Welham who picked it up and gave it Fox but the pace on Fox compared to Gardner. Wow.

Assuming you wern't there Zod, apologies if you were!

Went 2 years ago mate and didn't like the way the local plod were putting themselves about.

Anyway, it seems my point about how slow Saint's back 3 are went totally over a lot of people's heads when to me it seemed totally obvious.

It's a total embarressment to English Rugby League fans that Gardner & Wellens were even on the plane to Oz for the world cup.

God help Saints when Gidley, Cunningham & Long retire, Leeds are the model to follow if we are to have long term success IMO....

DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

Hi Andy

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

We're coming to make some noise!

Saints had 9 academy products in their 17 last night, that doesnt include someone like Long who came from Wigan yet has been at Saints what feels like forever!

Leeds I think had 12/13 in their 17 last week which is amazing to think they still looked a pretty classy outfit! Just shows it can be done but it takes time.

In comparison I think Rovers only have Kris Welham as I'Anson was trained at Leeds and Netherton was brought through at Hull. I know with championship winning sides you get purses to be able to put money into your youth set ups however it is something Rovers need to address only problem is it cant be done overnight.

Motto of the week -

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

Netherton was brought through at Leeds and Welham was on Hull's acadamy books.

You'll find Welham was on Hulls Scholarship but has been at Rovers since he was about 16 if i'm not mistaken, so has come through our youth structure not Hulls.

Didnt realise Netherton came through Leeds academy sorry!

Welham played in Hulls U-18 side on a number of occasions, he also had a spell at Doncaster before he signed for Rovers. So i think he would have been older than 16 when he first signed for Rovers.

Much as i rate Welham, i don't think Rovers can claim he is solely a product of their acadamy structure.
