Leeds dropped the ball a hundred times and still won comfortable.

I'll send you something that you can write down your complete knowledge of rugby league on.
A postage stamp should suffice.

You'd be better employed sending that stamp to Uncle Tim, and here's what to put on it.
The opposition scoring more points against you means that you have been beaten. Zilcho points. :thumb:

Plenty of Curly turds getting erections over the result. We had enough possession to win that game fairly comfortably but weren't slick enough to convert a few overlaps and Heff going off probably contributed to a couple of their tries? Fair improvement from last week but steep learning curve and Leeds found a way to win again.Reminded me a little of the play off semi v Hull when Hull probably should have won but didn't. The decision not to review keinhorst 2nd try was baffling but then so was Shaws being ruled out?Ablett old manned the ref What a niggly swine he is but you'd love him in your side. They were a bit smarter than us but we showed some promise. Next week is massive .

Can't fault the effort.
But the lack of pace, and persistent running back around the ruck, coupled with a no offloads policy. Means we're going to struggle in attack. Especially as we don't want to spread it out wide.
Think we need Moss at FB to give us something different.
Next week (a game I can't get to) is the important one.

There was some encouragement, buy a lot we need to improve on.

Would agree with that, moss is too good a player to not have in the squad, and a better full back than quinlan imo.
The turning point was clarkson holdong on too long on the 5th tackle and giving a pen from which they scored and got some momentum,2 obstruction decisions, the ablett one at the end and exactly the same at the other end when the video ref wasn't even consulted when leeds scored to go ahead.Good effort all round and thought atkins was very good, and as i said earlier should have played against wakey imo.

The conditions dictated that we could not really spread the ball last night though, you wasn't going to get free flowing rugby from either team.

As for Moss at fullback, the kid can't pass. We play with quinlan joining the line as a playmaker so playing moss means a switch of tactics - why would we do that when massive improvements in performance with that team - I think it will be same 17 if everyone is fit. Potentially salter on bench because he could of come on at centre and been a bit stronger defensively then blair was.

Leeds didn't get out of 1st gear last night, they had to make well over 100 more tackles than Rovers, made a lot more errors, but still managed to score twice as many tries. 2pts squandered. #prayfortim

Not unlike your semi v them last season? The thing that buoyed me a bit was just how dissapointed the players looked at full time. They knew that game was winnable.Lots of good things from that performance and a good weeks training can see us improve again next game. You could and have spun it to take all the negatives and do your normal hatchet job on KR but I saw enough positives to suggest we will be ok?Saying that if we stink v les Cats then maybe hard to keep PMA?

didn't see the the coupon where rovers got 100 tackles start, nothing to do with the 7or8 goaline dropouts forced then, leeds made their own errors nobody else, 2pts squandered very much so

Positives from that? I'll have a go, they certainly worked hard, Mulhern put in a huge shift & has improved a lot, Atkin looks a big improvement on Marsh, kicking game was pretty good. I'm struggling for much more than that.

For a team to have so much possession in the oppositions half and repeat sets, to only score two tries, that's pretty poor. Carney got no decent ball all game, Shaw took his try very well but again got very limited service, Quinlan is probably your biggest threat but didn't get much opportunity.

Your two centres are garbage and the oppositions left hand channel is going to have a field day against Blair & McGuire, absolutely dreadful defensively. Also, what did Masoe do, about 7 minutes? You need much more out of him.

I had Rovers +16 anyway, so happy days.

I know the conditions last night dictated the game. What I meant was in the final 20 we didn't spread it out wide, so gave the Leeds defence little to stretch them or think about. At the beginning of the 2nd half, when we had some pressure there was at least twice were on the right from where I was stood there was an overlap at the play the ball but we just drove it up the middle. This would be fine, if we were offloading. But we weren't.

In my opinion Moss is just a better FB. He's quicker, better under the high ball. And at least try searching that defence thing. I understand the pivot thing you point out, but personally would rather it was at LF than FB. As for him not being able to pass, neither can 70 % of our team.
Granted in summer it might be different, but it's hard to see on the evidence of last year and this year so far.

I think you're right that it will be the same 17 next week, weather it's the right 17 is opinion.
