Pause for thought. If Masoe does arrive for the 8s what restrictions will Saints place on Rovers over availability for selection. For example, contracted players will play 'patched-up', as the saying goes, will Saints allow this?

Looking at Masoe's recent injury CV it is a massive gamble for Rovers to take and it could prove costly if Masoe suffers an injury whilst playing for Rovers when patched-up. I suppose it beggars the question, what is the definition of patched-up.

If Saints have signed him for next year they will have no say on what he does this season.

It's no different to him getting injured playing for the Aussie club he was at this year before signing for Saints

I guess we can adopt a bit of a cut throats stance on him, he does a job for us, hopefully helps us get promoted then his physical well being is non of our concern come next season... I don't think I would want him permanently with his injury record of late.

Players' wellbeing and welfare is a concern for everyone irrespective of the club. You appear to have a very selfish attitude. Do your very best whilst with us but when you leave we don't care what happens to you.

That was my original position until I was informed Saints would have the final say (or words to that effect).

If anything, I would argue it is in Saints interest for Masoe to get game time before joining them in 2018.

I think we have had enough bad luck with overseas players who are shot.... crampese springs to mind immediately I am meaning it's about time we had some luck in that department obviously it would be sad if his injuries curtail his career but he won't be an expensive quota spot spending more time on the table then field for us next season....
