Well I would hope Caro is on an intensive wingers course and features big time or that's 2 seasons wasted money.

You cant teach caro courage and bravery and Iam afraid that is what is missing in his game,as he is certainly big enough and quick enough.

In Caros' case, I think people are confusing a lack of courage , with a lack of confidence. If he was scared I'm sure he could get a job in another line of work.

Sorry to see Alex leave though, I thought he looked to have the potential to make a decent super league winger.

The thing I always think in these situations is, the coaching staff work with these players day in, day out, maybe they see things we don't. They could have tried to correct faults, teach skills that the players concerned just haven't or couldn't take on board, hence they get moved on.

I'm not saying that is the case with Brown, but we don't know all the facts.

Very nice idea that everyone from SL to amateur level who pulls a shirt on has an abundance of heart and courage. Unfortunately, IMO, thats all it is, an idea. If David Mills had the heart and belief of Makali Aizue he would have been a complete monster with the size of him. He didnt, he plodded around and was crap. The same way that if a winger with a lot of bravery received that pass against salford away, they would have dived in at the corner and scored. Caro is timid, people moan about Cockayne but at least you know what your going to get from him on the pitch. If Caro cant back himself in that situation then when can he it was right there for him and he has looked even less confident since. He owes his agent a lot for getting a 2 year deal because if Alex Brown who is far better than him can only get a gig at Leigh then god knows where Caro would end up if he left. Nothing against him as a person i just think hes an awful RL player who will never make it and is a complete waste of salary cap, but nobody in their right mind will take him off us whilst hes contracted. Gutted to see Browin go tbh.

I think the point made about confidence rather than courage is the relevant point with Caro. He runs the ball with plenty of courage but looks a gibbering wreck when defending kicks and tackling. Players may pull out of things on occasions but then who knows if the're injured/fit/fatigued/misread/took the wrong decision etc.

I've seen Dobson make some horrendous hashes of tackles but he never lacked courage.

If what Cockayne does on a rugby pitch is counted as courage then i dont see it. Taking cheep shots at defenceless people takes no courage. He just appears sadistic and stupid on accasions.

Sinfield, Tomkins, Slater, and Blake Green in the grand final now there's courage. Players who create and take risks who the opposition target fairly and unfairly and never go missing who keep their head and don't lose the plot despite constant provocation.



It does take courage to play this sport cause you know what's coming everytime after your first game and there's not many places to hide, even on the wing.



On David Mills. I bet growing up with his dad Jim the games of touch in the family garden would have been enough to get you a comendation for a Victoria Cross. There's no wonder he looked a bit sheepish he was probably looking over his shoulder in case his old man came on.

In all truth, I'd rather we didn't take up the option for Dee Hodgson's 3rd year. But who knows if that was a player/agent incentive option when we first signed him.



TBF - I hope (and almost expect) to see a big improvement in Caro next year. Caro has his flaws like anyone, but his biggest for me is he lacks a RL brain. Almost everything he does, he thinks about, then processes and then the opportunity goes . Rather than going on pure instinct and making the most of whatever big or little chance comes his way.

You are confusing the courage to take a RL field and having the heart to be the best you can be whilst on it.

No one with a lack of courage would enter a sport that WILL get you beaten up every game simply just by the way the game is played.
