What with the emergence of Toronto etc. He might not have lived up to your expectations, but the club is in a better place now than when he joined it. Disappointing comment tbh.'"
Ive not criticised Tim since he came started off well enough, but this season his selections have been strange, at least one sub seems to be unplayed each week,i know we have had bad luck with injuries, but unused subs seems a total waste.Whether atkin stays or goes, most games when he has come on hes changed the course of the game, the cup wit warry an example and must feel hes not wanted.I know hes had interest from 3 s/l clubs and hasnt signed a contract with us,im not saying hes a world beater, but just hasnt had game time.Maybe i was a tad harsh in my 1st post regarding tim,but this season has really been disappointing, after I thought we would be competitive.Conceeding an average of 30pts a game is not going to get us anywhere near the top 8.

Have to agree with this to be fair. No nice for anyone to lose their job, but at the end of the day we should not be two points from bottom with the staff we have IMHO.

His health issues have played a part. Apparently he has a bad side.

| Tim is a great man and what a stellar career he has had. He has had stress issues in the past and nowadays he is just a little too calm and forgiving...IMO.
Between his successes he twice coached North Queensland to bottom place and the wooden spoon, we just couldn't wait to see if he got an unwanted hat trick at Rovers. With so many positive things happening at Rovers relegation would be intolerable.
Sheens was going to be replaced next season anyway but it seems the embarrassing display against 11 men was the final straw.
No one goes on forever and Tim Sheens has had a very long and illustrious career as a coach. I hope he puts his feet up and has a long and happy retirement.

It runs a lot deeper though and for many other reasons. This was probably just the last straw.

| This has the same shambles look as when Chester was sacked to be replaced by Webster. Hope there is a better plan this time.
The new man could do worse than bench McGuire who has been awful most games. Him and Keinhorst are awful defenders. McGuire has no direction he just play one tackle at a time with no planning ahead. I'd sign Drink water up now and let him run the plays.

| Right decision, Rovers have not improved since he came in, still around same league position and same issues.
I don't buy he did well to get you back up and keep you in the league, any half decent coach would have done that with the budget he had, struggled at times against championship sides.
Next appointment is massive, hugh gamble to go with Ford, not tested, done well, but a lot of success at York has been built on loaning SL players or using DR.
Morgan would be an interesting appointment, did really well last time, but should you either go back, will he be able to recruit the calibre of NRL players he did last time.
Tony Smith would be a good shiut, Wane as as well (But might be priced out), Watson at Salford would be a good choice as he has taken them as far as possible.
What about Mcnamara?

Dave you’ve virtually named every single coach I disagree slightly it wasn’t easy getting promoted it’s ok going through the motions but come the middle 8s it’s the hard part and we did it comfortably and then he kept us up the problem came this season where he signed better players but we seem worse I think we had enough to finish 8th but looks like we’ll be fighting London to stay up

What about Mcnamara?'" he managed to get us promoted via middle 8s competing with teams teams who had a 1 million quid more budget from central funding than ourselves ,not easy,, and to keep us up again not easy considering tight finances, he hasnt done anything out of the ordinary by any means just what he had to do ,agree its time for a new approach ,certain things have improved under him ,other things havent, he will leave with no major issues either way for me

Reports already from Wests Tigers that Tim Sheens would be considered for Head of Football to replace the departing incumbent.
Craig Sandercock I believe is still on the coaching staff there.

| The club have just released the following statement.
Hull Kingston Rovers can confirm that Tim Sheens has left his position as head coach with immediate effect.
The Australian spent two-and-a-half seasons at KCOM Craven Park, lifting the club from the Championship back up to the Betfred Super League in his first year, before consolidating the team’s status in the 2018 campaign.
Sheens took charge of 84 games, winning 47 matches, drawing two and losing 35.
A recent run of six defeats in seven league games during the current campaign, which leaves the club sat next to the bottom of the league, and an exit from the Coral Challenge Cup at the weekend, has prompted a change.
Further comment will be made in due course.

| Feel bad for the guy, as he did a lot for us.
However, I do think we need some new hope and energy from somewhere. Sheens leaving is no guarantee of it arriving, but we can but hope... for hope.
He has my best wishes, fwiw.

I agree with you but let’s be honest rovers could not carry on like we have I know we have had a lot of injuries but so have other clubs we have some good players so now we need a good coach to drag us out of this mess

| Don,t take any pleasure from someone losing their job, and would thank TS for his work for the club, but it,s all about results and this season they have not been good enough. We simply cannot go down again, the consequences for the club could be disastrous.
One thing is for certain and that is we have a real job to stay up and cannot rely on other teams failing, because the chances are they wont.
This club, with a successful team and it,s fan base really could(ignore some of the idiot posters from the dark side)become a top team again. We have done it before and can do it again, I have seen it and it was great and I want it back.
The correct appointment now is crucial.
Lets just hope that whoever gets the job can get this team to have a winning mentality and put some belief back in the club.
It,s time it happened.Good luck to the new boss.

| We've been critisising him for a while now, so lets not pretend this is not something a lot of us were hoping for.
Aside from waiting on a new coach to be announced, it'll mean no Lui as well (who I wasn't that bothered about anyway - Hastings on the other hand.....)
Regardless, I wonder if we'll suddenly hear that Hall and Atkin have signed...

Hall and Atkin both have plenty to offer, but not to the extent of contributing massively to taking us to the next level (mid-table and average), imo. I’d be happy with either or both staying for 2020, but if we kick-on they’d have to be sidekicks rather than our gun players.
Most other SL teams seem to have an extra gear compared with us, while we rely on revving the poop out of our undersized engine for 80 minutes. It’s been that way since well before Sheens arrived.
Some significant changes are needed from top to bottom, and some are being made in fairness.
Although I think the importance of youth development is generally overstated, it is still important and the arrival of John Bastian sends a strong signal. There’s a rumour we’re getting players to move closer to Hull and I think that could be very helpful too.

| Only time will tell if it was a good decision but it is a results game and 5 wins in a season is not good enough, Leeds fired the gun earlier than you but you do have to say another coach fired, it does seem to be a bit of a poison challis.
At times FC fans have been calling for Radfords head and some still do but Pearson has been adamant that he is going no-where maybe it is time for Hudge to do the same, at the end of the day he is the making the appointments. maybe he will take his time and get the right man then back him to the hilt. That must be the way forward.
ps
Just read in the wail (and it is the wail) might have new coach before Sunday, maybe not taking his time.

| Whilst I'd never celebrate anyone losing their job I do think it might have been more of a mutual decision. And, as already pointed out, it was something the majority of fans were calling for! TS was probably going through the motions at this point in his coaching career. We need a young, hungry coach with new ideas. However the Morgan rumour seems to be gathering traction. I'm not sure whether you should ever go back, no matter how popular and successful the last reign was. He'll be a popular appointment with the fans, no doubt about that.
