According to league express. Rovers specifically asked the rfl that they did not play Hull.
Partly because of the growing dissatisfaction of the over saturation of the Derby. Which is being voiced byou both sets of fans. But the RFL turned it down.
Why wouldn't they, I suppose? MW makes the RFL a load of money.
It's a shame really, as MW or "On the Road" games, if done correctly could be great for the game. But to do that, the RFL need to invest in local marketing & development officers, ensuring that the event is attended by as many locals as possible, and some sort of lasting legacy is left behind at grassroots level.
But, Magic Weekend's sole purpose now is to make money for the RFL, nothing more. They've literally created an extra round of fixtures to fill their pockets.
Regards to the Derby, I fully agree with Rovers' view on it.

Agree. I personally would like to see instead of it all being held at one place. A weekend we're games are held at different non RL grounds. (I expect Cas v Leeds in Middlesbrough etc). Which as you say if done rightly can attract big crowds promote the sport and hopefully get young kids playing it. In my opinion Magic Weekend has pretty much had its day now. And as you say is now all about money for the rfl. As is international rugby nowadays.
Craven park sorry if its old news. I don't live in Hull, so don't get the Hull daily Mail.

Occasionally, very slowely. Sometimes we even get same day stories
But even if it did run properly, The Hull Daily Mail website would be one of the last I'd read. It was crap when I lived in Hull. Can't see it improving since I left.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Amazingly, using the web site has actually made the experience worse.
