Everything i've heard & read so far has advertised it as the 'Magic Weekend', so i'm guessing they're just going to be dropping the Magic...of course, due to the change in venue.

As for the fixtures, said on BBC news this morning the usuals will be kept....but guess we'll have to wait until the '09 season fixtures are released for confirmation on that one.

Anyone ever been up to Murrayfield?

I hope that they drop the Derby Format in favour of a Seeded System based on this years final table.

ie.

1v2
3v4
5v6
7v8
9v10
11v12
and the two new teams.

Based on the current Super League Table that would mean.

Saints v Rhinos
Dragons v Wire
Wigan v Bradford
Wakefield v HKR
Quins v Hull
Giants v Cas
Salford/Widnes/Celtic

Surely that would mean fc could lose a few games just to make sure of 2 pts next season.

I hear it will indeed be based on seedings next year. Which is a shame really as with the league just being one home and away fixture next season I think the one extra game as a derby is not too bad, however for fairness I would say the seeded route will give a much fairer league overall.

I would assume it would be Murrayfield magic! Im not to impressed with the venue if it rains heavy or is a wet month(remember this is Scotland) the pitch wont take 7 games in two days as it has no roof. I would also prefer to go to Cardif as it is a much better & cheaper city to get about in. I have had to go to Edinburgh a lot on buisness & I dont like it & avoid the place at all costs. Since the Scotish parliment opened all the hotels have upped prices as have all the bars & resteraunts. The only plus point is that they may advertise the event with some enthusiasm unlike the Welsh media who have a vested interest in League not chalenging Union.

Be interesting for sure, from Sky Sports.....

The format of the fixtures has yet to be determined but the League have decided to scrap the "derby" element in favour of a seeded draw

Wonder whether this will be an extra round played for all teams next season.
