Danny Tickle is a really tough player I think we all thought he had seen his best years especially after his incident outside a nightclub which left him with a bleed on the brain and a fractured skull.
It looked like he had more important things than rugby to worry about and after a long absence it seemed his career was over.
He defied the critics and had a good year with Leigh in 2017 but still he was released and looking for a club.
When Tim Sheens rescued him from obscurity fans were expecting/hoping for a big signing and the combined effect was huge disappointment. But right from the off Danny has been highly enthusiastic and committed to the Rovers cause and as we have now seen still is a very good player.
Maybe his time out of the game has given him the motivation to eek out the best he can get from what remains of his career. His goalkicking isn't quite what it was but otherwise he seems better than ever. His try against Hull was down to sheer determination & strength and he's scored a few similar tries this season.
His shuddering tackle on Scott Taylor will be remembered for a long time I think we all enjoyed that well maybe Taylor didn't.
I'd give him another year for sure he's certainly done everything he could have done to earn it.
