It's going to be nervy. At the moment I, and I suspect plenty of others, expect us to finish 11 or 12th after 23 rounds. That means only 3 of 7 fixtures will then be at home. And with 2 stronger teams in 9th and 10th, finishing top 3 to avoid the MPG or outright relegation won't be easy.



On the plus side, we can start preparing now. We shouldn't ever give up and occasional wins will help massively with confidence. Narrowly missing the 8 is potentially pretty draining (though still better than being way off the pace, admittedly). Plus a few of our players should still be fresh, having missing the early part of the season. If we keep up the improvement we've seen the last couple of weeks, albeit from an abysmal starting position, we should squeak back in to SL, I reckon.

I don't think it is doom and gloom, just looking facts in the face. We'd need 15 points from 15 games to match the total we got last season, when we were 10th.



Our team will go into just about every match as underdogs, and I just don't think we can upset the odds that consistently.



I wouldn't completely rule out 9th or 10th. Campese might put a run of games together, Salford might be deducted a few points. But, tbh it's a big ask from here. And it's still the middle 8s, just with an extra home fixture.



One good thing from our POV, is that there's no need to panic. Keep plugging away week in week out, looking for improvements and aiming to be as ready as possible for the 8s.

So in other words. Accept utter mediocrity and enjoy the ride.

Wether you want to look for doom and gloom or accept mediocrity, the storm clouds are gathering and ready to drown us.

We're in the middle 8s for sure but we've got a decent team when fit and we cruised through them last year with injuries and the Wembley distraction

We're still a fair way short of mediocrity by SL standards, if we're being brutally honest. Anything better than shambolic has been a relief so far this season, and I think we are now finally starting to look halfway decent for periods in games, at least. The injuries keep piling up, and Monday is a scary prospect. But 'we' have a good opportunity now to get ourselves in much, much better shape over the next four months, in time for the business end of the season, when we'll be given a clean slate.

What we need to concentrate on is finishing 10th. An extra home game.

11th or 12th for you guys. At least peacock will be earning a good wage, because he's making a big difference, plus paying Chester off now paying webbo, wasted money should be on a better healthier squad.
