Rumour has it - Widnes were prepared to offer him big bucks so he held out at Rovers turning a contract down but when Widnes were not offered a licence he came back and asked if the offer was still there. By then the chance was gone and so Cas snapped him up.
You have a good player there who is ambitious and I much prefere to see playing back row although he's still a good hooker. His chances to be a no.1 hooker will be limited anywhere but he looks like an old school type hooker and has years ahead of him to mature and become that first choice he really wants to be.
Good luck to him at Cas he's a good bloke and certainly a SL standard player.
