There isn't a team in RL who haven't got a capitulation in them given circumstance and just one of those days. Still feel we will be fine but it isn't going to be pretty
It’s more that we’ve 4 wins and 7 defeats than just the Hull result - which unfortunately doesn’t feel like a
huge outlier. If we lose those two games, even with better body language, then we’ll undeniably be in a relegation battle.
Will we be fine? We might well avoid relegation, but comfortable in mid-table feels a distant prospect currently. It’s tough to change the perception that that’s our natural position when we’re down there every year, and without changing the perception it’s hard to climb. On the other hand, others have managed it.
I like Sheens a lot and he turned the ship around. However, he’s said more than once that he wants it to be close going into the last 5 minutes, as then we’ve still got a chance. I assume stronger teams don’t want it to be close in the final stages, as they see it as risking dropping points. I guess we won’t against London... but against everybody else we will. That probably shows where we’re at.
While we need to be realistic, I think we’ve come to accept some things as inevitable that in fact aren’t. Like that other teams will always be bigger and stronger than us, and achieving parity in the physical aspects of the contest over 80 minutes is the best we can hope for.
