I have no problem with the captain approaching the ref or any other player for that matter in an appropriate and respectful manner to query a decision but standing there pointing and spitting at him is not a respectful manner and it is not something we who referee at the grass routes level during the winter want to see. Kids see this and think it is ok to act like that and we should not be seen to condone it though I am not surprised that some do. It has far reaching consequences. Regardless of anyone thinking he might have had a point there are ways and means of making that point and this was not the way to go about it. You can be abusive without actually swearing at the ref and his body language was abusive. If I had been approached in that manner he would have definitely sat down for 10. Just because he thinks he is some kind of superstar it shouldn't make any difference.
What a load of tripe he never spat at him and wasn't even pointing at bentham.
Watch the game properly or don't make dross comments like that.
