Schofield was hardly ever in town, his assistant (Nigel Wright) lived and worked in London all week, pre-season was a shambles and in the few games he was in charge, the team looked lost and devoid of any noticable gameplan. I'm afraid his 'expansive game' mantra wasn't backed-up with any meat on the bones.
The players didn't respect him as a coach and everything went down hill rapidly both on and off the field.
