:lol: They say people only try and wind up the quality players. I am sure Tommy is still cleaning his CC Winners medal and not worrying too much about a bit of banter he gets on a Sunday afternoon

So, what do we face today (15/02/09) ...... home to Featherstone Rovers (NRC);

The coaching staff at Featherstone headed by Daryl Powell and Ryan Sheridan have put together a squad for 2009 expected to be serious play-off contenders in the newly named Championship and will also be fancied to progress through from the group stages of the Northern Rail Cup.

There are a host of experienced and familiar names in the back division most notably former Warrington, Leeds and Bradford half back Iestyn Harris.

However, Harris is not the only Featherstone back with Super League experience as he is joined today by Waine Pryce (Castleford & Wakefield), Ian Hardman (St Helens & Hull KR) and ex Castleford half back Andy Kain.

Throw in Stuart Kain and former Hull KR flyer Jon Steel and the potential to score points becomes obvious. Local product Sam Smeaton completes the back division as Powell plans to make full use of his squad with three fixtures in a week.

In the forwards, there are a couple of names which will be familiar to the Dons supporters. Hooker Joe McLocklan and prop forward Sean Hesketh both featured for Doncaster in the Keepmoat era.

Powell also starts local products Richard Blakeway and James Houston along with former Leeds and Wakefield second row Jamie Field and fellow ex Super League forward Tommy Haughey (ex Wakefield, London & Castleford).

The replacements named today are Tommy Saxton who boasts a wealth of Super League experience with Castleford, Hull, Salford & Wakefield, youngster Jack Lee signed from Castleford and forwards Joe Hirst and John Fallon.

Dons +8 points with Ladbrokes (5/6), Tote (10/11) and Skybet (10/11).

Hills (5/6) and Stan James (10/11) offer just a 6-point start.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

errrr..... I'll try and be delicate here. - you wouldn't have thought so if you'd had seen him play last year!!

The improvement appears to be - how shall I put it, - He's more comfortable and much more expressive with Harris as a partner at half back than he was with last years half back!!!!

Don't think I need to add to that publicly!

and yes, this year he does look a completely different player. Draw from that what conclusions you will!
