Good result. York battled hard. It goes to show that you can never take your foot off the gas in this league.

We came under pressure when we conceded two quick penalties when Brett Ferres came on. Thankfully, we scored early in the second half to calm our nerves.

Impressed with quite a few players today. Greg Burns, Loui McConnell, Brad Knowles and Craig Hall to name a few

I hope Alex Sutcliffe isn't too badly injured. I saw he took a knock near the end.

Pauli Pauli is a beast, isn't he?

A season full of those performances keeps us in this league, granted they were missing their regular goal kicker and Will Dagger but we definitely deserved the win. Thought Lyne, Briscoe, Hall and Halliday showed up well but Pauli when he came on was head and shoulders and if he stays fit will be massive for us, a few york fans after the game in the beefeater said we knew it was going to be a tough game looking at the signings we've made also said Don's fans were very quiet.

I think the ‘quietness’ might be something to do with the nervousness of stepping up a division.
We’ve had too many false dawns and disappointments over the years to get carried away with things.
It’s been a bloody good start though!

The Stadium has a weird affect with sound, apart from the drum I couldn't really hear their supporters; but there was a decent number and they seem to be saying they created a good atmosphere so guess it's the same issue, can't really hear them unless you're amongst them.

I always say though, we don't have enough fans in the teenage/early 20's age group. Most of the people who get the stuff going for us are in our 40's and should be sat half way down grumbling about the noisy idiots at the back

Broken jaw in two places DM. Appears the tackle by the York player was placed on report. Alex will be about for about three months.
