Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

No you’re not. You are saying Widnes are, because you want them to meet P&R rules in a licence era because it would suit Wakey.

With good reason and you know it, or you wouldn’t be here getting all confused and whinging.

Why is the license system bothering you so much? oh yeah thats right Wakefield are probably the most vulnerable to be dropped out and Widnes the most likely to be put in. The fact that Barrow won the last grand final means bugger all except ticking a box under the current rules. Harsh some might say but they are the rules, Widnes have concentrated on building the correct balanced squad so we can enter super league next time. We have around 7 home grown players in the squad and have produced a recent international through our system in Richie Myler. The reason why most of us are confident of our chances is we have everything in place where as others dont. Call it confident or say it shouldnt be that way but they are the rules. If it were still promotion and relegation the squad would be a lot stronger than it currently is and with less reliance on youth.

We have plenty to shout about, no matter what Wakey do.

A little Freudian slip here I think. Obviously you see your own club as the most likely to be dropped.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

That is the point , there is nothing there TO collapse , until there is keep your powder dry , dont forget We've been through all this at Leigh , it took 8 years and the RFL still didn't acknowledge the thing was actually there when it was 3/4 s built

Explain why we would share the same bizarre opinion as yours under those circumstances.

There is a perception that Widnes some how seem to think they are best club in the championship and they deserve to be in SL. Win the GF then come back to me

This is your perception, you came on here to troll and none of us have shoved this 'perception' down your throat. So why should it be up to us to come back and prove a point which you started in the first place and we don't particularly care about?

Poor stupid confused troll.

It seems to be that a lot of Widnes fans on here are now coming round to the idea of the franchise system because they seem to think they are a shoe in for one.

If by 'coming round to the idea' you mean acceptance of the franchise system then yes it is logical to say that we have accepted it. However, I don't quite get how you come to the conclusion that we accept this system just because you think we believe we are a shoe in?
Please explain how you arrive at this bizarre assumption.

It seems to be this view point is being held because of their lack of ability to win the Cham/NL GF. Win the GF then you can spout!

What is this obsession with us not being entitled to be confident of a franchise spot just because we've not won the Grand Final? We've satisfied the on field criteria set out by the RFL and now we've got another 12 months to further cement our position on the field. Off the field we appear to have got everything else in place. Is this the real reason why you're on here acting all jealous about us 'spouting'? It seems that your mindless 'winning the Grand Final' rant is the only argument you've got against anything reasonable that we respond with.

Your 'view point' is simply a figment of your very muddled and slightly retarded imagination. We've accepted the franchise system because they are the rules we now have to play by. Fortunately for our club we can safely say that we are satisfying those rules and stand a very good chance in the next round of applications. The only reason you are on here is because your club cannot say the same and is running on borrowed time in Super League.

Re: Widnes before Barrow? : Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:14 pm
If the next round of Franchises were to be announced today we would be guaranteed. How could we be possibly behind Salford and Castleford under the current scoring system? The only way we would not get awarded a franchise would be if Salford and Cas get a new stadium along with us not getting one and the Wrexham franchise turned into a success! Thats a few big ifs to come together for us to be denied our rightful place.

It would be in Wakefields interests for the franchise system to continue rather leave ourselfs open to a bad season of performances. But it would be happy to take that chance in the interests of RL overhaul. It looks to be that a lack of P/R is killing the game below SL and this is a situation that can't continue.
