It's interesting what you say in the second para above. As far back as I can remember in my time watching RL, and that's been a long, long time, there has been a sense of Widnes and St Helens folk generally being similar in character.
Particularly a shared sense of humour and level-headed outlook.
Of course, the problem has also always been the existence close by to us both of The Wire.
A team and a place representative of exactly the reverse.
I mean to say, amongst some nitwits from other clubs, there are enough fans of The Wire daft enough to label you as "Scousers".
Though I do like John Bishop's take on IKEAland. Oh, yessum.
