ha ha... oh look it's SRC the solitary voice coming out of Barrow that thinks they have any chance this time around. Still trying to whip up a frenzy on this old chestnut. Would have thought the fact nearly no-one agreed with you last time you would have given it up.
Most Barrow fans seem to realise that they stand a fantastic chance in 2015 but this time has come too early for them.

How could you think that a Barrow fan would have posted such a ridiculous statement ? All fans of Championship clubs know that Widnes going into SL is already a done deal. Their club is in an overall far better and more advanced position than any other to make the step up.

Barrow for Super League 2015

Re: Widnes before Barrow? : Sat Jan 09, 2010 10:57 pm
If us Barrow fans don't have any faith in the club and what it can achieve, then what's the point ????
What's wrong with wanting to play at the highest level and believing there is a possibility ?

Isn't that what being a fan of supporter is all about ?

If we were playing in the pre-Super League era, we'd be looking forward to a season in Super League. No-one at Barrow has ever complained about this, we're just trying to get what we can of our house in order to give us the best chance of winning the RFL's license charade for 2012.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!

There’s nothing wrong with any of that, but what you do is pretend that Barrow are an equally strong club as Widnes when they are clearly not. That’s not arrogance on my behalf, given the RFL’s licence criteria, it is a simple observational fact.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting it, but failing to acknowledge the obvious strength of the opposition, while over-stating your own, will convince no-one. Widnes beat Barrow on practically every licence metric you can mention.

That’s what we’re all trying to do, and you’re right about it being a charade. If Barrow get a licence in 2012 it will prove it.

There's nothing wrong with having faith in your club but your faith seems to be blind to the fact of what the requirements are and what other clubs have achieved. Look at fans of 'fax and Leigh both who have SL aspirations and many will agree that we are best placed to take the 2012 spot while they acknowledge that they are on course for 2015.

For some reason though you seems to ignore that and constantly try to denigrate our position. I'd be interested to know why.

Barrow for Super League 2015

Re: Widnes before Barrow? : Sun Jan 10, 2010 1:00 pm
I have ALWAYS said that Widnes are front runners. However, there's 18 months to go yet and a lot can happen. I'm interested to hear how Widnes know what the definite SL critera is for 2012, as the RFL haven't told any of the other clubs.

As I have said before, there will be AT LEAST 1 club going into SL from the Championship. OK, Widnes are favourites for 1 spot, but if another team can prove they would be a better option than another SL club, then who knows?

I remember most NL1 fans writing off Barrow's survival in the Championship last season and look what happened.

Why confused ??
We won the league and the Grand Final. Hence, in the pre-SL era, we'd be looking forward to a year in the higher league in 2010.

In fact, that's how every other sport works - except ours.
