Got to say credit to Myler for the signing of Asiata, not only is he a fantastic player but perhaps more importantly is a proven leader and what we have been crying out for since Ellis. Also the more I see and hear from Grix the more he impresses, I’m not saying he should be given the role full time but he has certainly stood up to the plate.
Whilst attacking wise we are still pretty poor (not helped by poor recruitment & no quality/experience in the halves) the improvement in the discipline has been significant. We still aren’t going to win many but already we can see clear signs and evidence of improvement in how and the structure we are playing.
We still have a huge amount of work to do but the performances under Grix are night & day from the Smith tenure.
Although the score line is what it is we do look a much more organised outfit but just don’t have the quality in the right areas to worry any opposition. Had this game been a few weeks ago we’d have been down by 30 before halftime.
