So Ian Watson has admitted that its been frustrating as Wardles coach that he hasn't been fit, and he wants fit and durable players in his squad! Surely that should be telling us not to progress with his signing!

To be looking to sign a player nearing 30 who has hardly played in two years is either delusional or desperation.
You would think we had learned something from signing Reynolds.
Its not inspiring

If the club in AP & BH think that Joe Wardle is a player worth signing then we really are in trouble. The guy was a decent player but fit the last 2 seasons at least (more like 4 plus) he’s hardly played as he can’t get on to the field due to injuries.

We need players that are durable and can actually make it on to the pitch on a match day at the very least, wardle struggles to even make the training field.

We have had enough players as it is that have missed most of the past 2 seasons as it is.

So I hope that Wardle being linked is just paper talk and nothing more.

Get the young lad from Saints, he l be raring to forge a career.

have you actually watched either of them play??
Cunningham has to be the worst "professional" number 9 I've ever seen on a rugby field! passing slow, pass selection poor and often wayward. run from DH?? nah too much effort!!!!! Bear in mind Watson played 9 and tried to improve him - his attitude was all wrong so when we gave him the opportunity to go to leigh and make a fresh start he refused to go. He didn't play for us again - instead we played golding at 9 instead of him which should give you an idea of how poor he is!
Peats on the other hand has been solid, smart and a breath of fresh air at Hooker - if we had a quota spot I suspect we would keep Peats. As it is we had already signed Danny Levi before Peats came so we don't have the space.
As for wardle a fully fit wardle is a great player, competitive, good defender and runs excellent lines, but with his latest injury woes its a risk.......

Thanks for your insight from a Huddersfield perspective. Wardle we know is a good player when or if fit but sadly that's the issue with him as in IF fit and his injury record not just over the past two seasons but probably 4 seasons is not great. For me he would be too much of a risk and likely to only make half a dozen games and we have players in that category already in the squad.

I didn't offer an opinion on signing cunnigham or peats, sure you've quoted the right poster?

Mine was about Aaron Smith, I only put that I think peats was off home.

Some interesting comments from Wigan’s Chairman ( who has Stadium issues of his own).

We really need to look at alternatives, but that’s easier said than done. A change of ownership may change things (football wise), but not guaranteed to be for the better.

Like I say a risk. One we took with cudjoe who spent the previous 2 1/2 years injured- he’s come back this year and is playing some great rugby- well enough to earn himself another contract. But giving a long standing home grown player a chance is a difference to taking a punt on a player from elsewhere.
He seems to struggle to settle too, didn’t take to Cas at all.

We need to get moving with recruitment, unfortunately I think we have left it to late to recruit.

Huddersfield already have 3 halfback better than our main two halfbacks.

How do you know the club aren't actively looking at players. They have a habit of not telling us too much.

Main recruitment time is May to July, most of the work is done there, things were looking pretty good then, so our plan was to sign a British winger and sign an overseas prop, since then it was become apparent our squad has greater needs.

We have all of squad signed up and only one quote spot (if that hasn't already been used on a prop).

I'm sure the club are looking but with very little cap, one quota spot and pretty mush no quality players out of contract to improve our 17, it is going to be a tough job.

These weaknesses have been the same for about 3 years and it has took some until now to release our main weakness is in our pivots.
