As much as the current government have things to answer for, who would you actually replace it with? Could you see any other party or politicians doing any better from the current pool of self serving MP's of any party?
They are all guilty as in times like this pandemic all MP's no matter what party should have united for the good of the country and the people they serve and put all political differences aside. Sadly they didn't, they all used it as an opportunity for political point scoring instead of working on the job in hand.

Don't get me wrong, the Corbyn led Labour party probably would have been just as bad - but they wouldn't have put out huge contracts to friends, instead of out to tender. It isn't just with hindsight we can make these comments, at the time that cases were rising in India, people were emploring the government to red list India, but it didn't happen, and the people arriving were not even told to isolate. Lo and behold, the Indian variant rampages through the UK. The fact that Johnson didn't even attend Cobra meetings at the start of the pandemic just shows how little threat he saw it having, and he has been on the back foot ever since

I can't and can't see having the likes of Starmer, Raynor, Dodds or Davy, Cooper, Farron etc would have been any better.

“ we can all find fault with hindsight, but which country hasn't made any mistakes”? New Zealand, Thailand, Andorra, Barbados, Bosnia, Iceland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia. Most of the Asia Pacific countries did better than us, as the had experience of SARS and took Covid-19 very seriously from the off. Whereas we’ve been very slow to respond, too late into lockdowns and too quick out of them. The Tories have prioritised the economy but it’s cost us more in the long run. In 2016 the government had a dummy run to see how we’d fare in a pandemic of various kinds. It showed we were unprepared, like of hospital places, lack of PPE. So the government were warned unfortunately for us the Tories ignored it as it did not fit their ideology of austerity and welfare. Any alternative political party would have done better for the country and its populace other than the Tories as their ideology is different.

In my opinion SL is going to have to change it policy very soon to one where if a player has been jabbed and tests positive he can still play provided he has no symptoms and is happy to do so, on the basis that transmission is much lower with a jab. In a normal season players will take to the field with coughs, colds, aftermath of dodgy kebabs ;) etc there's always some risk of catching something, as long as it isn't serious or deadly it shouldn't matter. As a society we can stay inside wrapped up in cotton wool forever.

Transmission had nothing to do if you have a jab or not. Inoculations ensures the recipient does not get the disease or has a lower reaction to it.

No, lets not leave at that.

India was added to the red list on 23rd April, but Pakistan and Bangladesh had been on it since 9th April. Bangladesh had the South Africa but not the Brazil variant and Pakistan had neither, India had both. It doesn't matter whether it was UK citizens returning or foreign nationals viisting, they should have had to isolate. The UK government are to blame. They put getting a trade deal with India ahead of public health,

I’ll repeat. If people don’t follow the rules, and I’ll bet most people know someone who hasn’t, then given the resources available to ‘Police’ them. It is inevitable that a virus can,and will, spread amongst ‘communities’ pretty damn quickly.
However as someone else has said. Thankfully, serious illness and deaths do not appear to be following the same trajectory.

I know someone who didn't follow the rules, in fact he made the rules. His name is Matt Hancock.

One rule for him one rule for everybody else it seems.

Not true. Its not fool proof and you can of course still catch it after being jabbed, but evidence does suggest that its pretty effective at reducing transmission.
