I'm having next bank holiday in Hull we are big golfers and are playing Hessle on the Sunday then staying over in Hull at the camponoile cheap and cheerful but we are just wondering what are the best places for a drink on that Sunday evening? Also do we need to book? I know Wakefield like the back of my hand for good pub roots would be happy to oblige if the shoe was on the other foot. This is the address at the hotel Beverley Rd, Freetown Way, Hull HU2 9AN. If you guys could let me know much appreciated not been to Hull for 2-3 years whilst watching wakefield I've heard the marina area is nice now.
It depends what you're looking for of course but you can't go wrong if you ask for directions to "the old town". Silver Street, Scale Lane and Trinity Square have many good pubs and it's within walking distance from your hotel, albeit a 20 minute walk, but you'll find a few decent pubs on your way there as well.

Fruit Market (off the Marina) has improved a lot and is good in nice weather, but you'd have to book if the sun shines as the beer gardens aren't large.
The link Chris71 is a good one.The best pubs in Hull are clustered together in the High Street / Scale Lane area, assuming you are more of an ale drinker than Carling etc.
BTW is it too late to book a different hotel? Campanile has a poor reputation. There is a Travelodge just over Scale Lane bridge from the Old Town.
The best cheap hotels by a mile are Premier inn I recommend If you have a car then try the Premier inn Hull west at Hessle you wont be disapponted. Campanile is a dump
Thanks for your responses guys we also gave your neighbors a good seeing to yesterday. We are teeing off at 11-15 so will probably just get a few bars in tbh general consensus seems silver street looking at the comments so head for there get a Uber or 2 happy days. Hotel wise aslong as it's safe to lay my head for the night will be happy. Many thanks again
