I think the worst thing about this is the lack of apology or statement by Tony Clubb, we all make mistakes and say things we regret in the heat of the moment and these have consequences, but the fact he hasn't either apologised publicly shows the type of man he is.

I suspect he will issue an apology today now that the outcome from the RFL is known. No doubt he was advised to remain quiet by his legal team until the outcome was known. The big question for me is what are Wigan as a club going to do about it considering the moral stance they took over J Tompkins

Hard Work Beats Talent, When Talent Doesn't Work Hard

Re: Round 5 v Wigan : Wed May 05, 2021 8:20 am
The RFL just can't help but shoot themselves in the foot, last night should have been a clear statement that we are a exclusive sport which is something that RL prides its self on. However to give the minimum ban, a measly fine and even worse claiming how good of a character he is just stinks and goes against every value that the sport holds dear.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Maybe you need to check who actually made the statement on the outcome...

On the game, I see Sneyd picked up a man of Steele point, now I haven't watched the game again, but for me he wouldn't have been in my top 8 Hull players, nevermind top 3 of both teams.
I've been disappointed with Sneyd the last few games, we know he isn't creative with the ball in hand or has a good running game, but his kicking (not goal kicking) has been off.

I know he might have knock and missing his partner, but we need more from him

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

The RFL are the governing body of the sport and have had every opportunity following the hearing be it independent or otherwise to make a clear statement on the game stance on this subject. The buck stops with them and it is not unreasonable for the RFL to be able to discuss the outcome of the hearing and deem that such a lenient view with the minimum punishment for this offence being applied is not acceptable for the good of the game and set a suitable one.

The whole situation is a complete farce and basically says as long as its said in the heat of the moment its just a little bit naughty and OK no harm done. :WALL:

The RFL have simply yet again ducked out a tough situation and to say the RFL are not to blame is for me wrong as they are and should be wholly accountable as a governing body. I would have thought a joint statement or at least some form of statement from the governing body alongside the one from the tribunal.

So for me I agree that the RFL has once again shot itself in the foot and made a mockery of the sport itself and their whole anti racism campaign because as soon as they have to act they fall short and bottle it.

If my memory serves me correctly I think Guy Kearl, defended one of the great train robbers as well, in a very famous case. Ronnie Biggs I think.

And later as a QC he actually sentenced the infamous Charles Bronson, Bronson, who was a notorious criminal, said to Judge Guy Kearl, as he waited for his sentence, “can you get those wigs in black”

Literally nothing in the post spoke about Reynolds, it was all Sneyd, so wondered if I hadn't checked my Instagram for a few days
