Backs 2011 : Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:11 pm
Same stylee as the forwards thread.

Contracted:
Tansey 2012
T Briscoe 2011
Horne 2011
Long 2011
J Briscoe 2011
Turner 2012

OOC:
Calderwood - retain
Yeaman - retain
Hall - ?
Whiting - retain
Lynne - retain
Tuffour - ?

I'd like us to make one addition to that line up, and that's for another winger (if any are available). Maybe on a two year deal while Lynne develops.
Hall - I'd only keep him if he was happy to play backup, as I don't think he's better than Yeaman or Briscoe.
Whiting I'd give a three year deal to - the bloke is quality. I can't see him having a starting role in the backs if we have a fully fit backline, but I've included him in this list as he's playing there at the mo. I see him as a replacement when Fitz leaves.

2011:

1. Tansey
2. Calderwood
3. T Briscoe
4. Yeaman
5. *New Signing
6. Horne
7. Long
Turner, J Briscoe, Lynne, Whiting, Hall - backup.

i would like to see darrell goulding, can play both wing and centre, and extremely well too, i would release calderwood and depending on contracts i would look to get chris riley, he can play wing or full back, that would give us great cover all over, and if long gets injured riley switch to fb and tansy to 7.

So basically your gonna go with the same as what weve got this year which is a load of injury prone, too young, has been, never gonna make its?

Tansey - I dont get why he gets such great praise. The epitomy of average imo. Give him a run at scrum half IMO
Calderwood - Not a bad player but injury prone
Briscoe - Total lack of experience, playing too many games, cant catch a bomb, falls over as soon as he hits a defender
Yeaman - Agian the epitomy of average
Hall - Great in attack, poor in defence. Kevin Penny mk2
Horne - Injury prone now and battling serious illness. Seems his best days are behind him.
Long - Fantastic career but sadly now no longer a top level player. Injury prone.
Turner - Again very average, would he be in Saints, Wigans or Leeds 25. Answer = no.

We might as well all give up and go home then. By your reckoning none of our players are good enough.

it's a bit early to say without giving game time to tuffour and reece lynne

my favourite is Richard owen @ castleford but there's a quite a few youngsters out there in SL who can cover the back line

if we have Yeaman, Briscoe and Hall next season, then i'd sign a winger. whiting should be the only utility player we need IMO
