First and foremost Galea is a very good player who runs superb lines and scores regularly, only time will tell us if he will be able to play enough games to justify signing him,the dobbins wanted to keep him but on a reduced wage.
I was told he earned 135k this season and was offered 85k for next so if we sign him then logically it will be somewhere in the middle
I'd be very sceptical about any figures which get bounded about. Only the Directors, the player and his agent will know.
Irrespective of the numbers you quote, if rovers did make him an offer it was back in July at the latest as that's when Galea first said he was not staying there. As time has progressed and other players may have been available (the Bradford contingent not having any certainly until very recently) Galea may have been left in a position of having to take what he can get, so it may not be in the middle of the numbers quoted.
Will Galea be a good signing for us? You could ask that question about any player. There is no doubting is playing ability. Perhaps it's a squad balancing signing to up the experience levels in the squad. After all, it appears no one really knows who will be announced. If you believed this thread we will have 15 new players, apparently all done deals
One thing is for certain, come next season, Gentles ability will be under the microscope as it will be his team that will be on show.
