He's never going to be a halfback as long as he has a hole in his arris. If Houghton, Berrigan and, in all probability Tony, were fit he'd not get near the number 9 shirt. He's not as good in the back row as Washy, Whiting, or Horne (G), and that's before you consider the new arrival(s).
Personally, I much preferred Peter Lupton as a player, and he wasn't considered good enough. Lee will end up in a similar position to Luppers.
