Yes, I think them coming up is th most positive thing to happen to Super League in years. It’s a natural extension of the game away from the M62 and with a club with a solid infrastructure. We

The worry is, if they change to two leagues of ten, it’s going to be a tough ask for any promoted team to finish at least 9th in its first season. Worry is any benefit the game benefits from having Toulouse in the top flight could be tossed away with a restructure.

I get the romantic notion of expansion, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of another French weekend, “many supporters are not” it’s expensive with travel costs escalating, especially air fares after covid, the collapse of Thomas Cook hasn’t helped the occasional traveler either, imagine cup draws and crappy loop fixtures as well. Their are some very cheap air fare deals now, but generally the routes to our summer getaway have nearly doubled in the peak months.

I listened to Danny Ward almost sneering, about the old views of “they don’t bring any fans with them” but he’s working for an organisation that don’t really care about supporters, just subscriptions to Sky, and the fact remains like it or not Fev & Leigh put more money in AP pocket than Catalan ever have, not this year mind.

As a supporter, I will welcome our visitors from Toulouse, and congratulations on their promotion.

Perhaps we should just revert to the old Yorkshire and Lancashire league, with 3-4 fixtures each across the Pennines? That will wow the Sporting World!!!

We need to find a way to progress the game and build interest. Toulouse increases that interest. Featherstone coming up to Super League would have had the same impact that Leigh did this season.

Not all fans travel to away games anyway and there are still 10+ other away games to attend on the M62 each season. Other than Rovers, other teams don’t bring many fans to Hull.

Let’s at least see how it goes, before we bemoan Toulouse not been located on the M62.

We could explore something like state of origin games, to help build the game.

Don't forget the cost to Les Cats. As someone else has stated it's another expensive away trip. One which people may make to Toulouse, at the expense of a trip, or two, to Perpignan.

Come on let's not overthink or over analyse this.
I'm sure Catalan will be fine not having to make an overseas flight for an away game.
They will also I'm sure take more away supporters to a game and vice versa for Toulouse.
They will be increased TV coverage/interest in France for the 1st SL derby.
I think it's a great concept and very pleased for the expansion of the game.
