Totally underwhelmed by their promotion.
I get the romantic notion of expansion, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of another French weekend, “many supporters are not” it’s expensive with travel costs escalating, especially air fares after covid, the collapse of Thomas Cook hasn’t helped the occasional traveler either, imagine cup draws and crappy loop fixtures as well. Their are some very cheap air fare deals now, but generally the routes to our summer getaway have nearly doubled in the peak months.
But I want to watch my team play, preferably live, playing Fev would cost me around £35 excluding beer
a double header Cats/Toulouse only playing them once you probably cop for around £500, not sure on the euro tunnel prices, coach trips etc, as I said the thought of a visit to Toulouse and Catalan again is superb, I’ll probably do the Toulouse one only, for inquisitive reasons, depending on dates.
I listened to Danny Ward almost sneering, about the old views of “they don’t bring any fans with them” but he’s working for an organisation that don’t really care about supporters, just subscriptions to Sky, and the fact remains like it or not Fev & Leigh put more money in AP pocket than Catalan ever have, not this year mind.
As a supporter, I will welcome our visitors from Toulouse, and congratulations on their promotion.
