I've watched Carlos play a lot this year, and I think he has had a great year of development. He learnt to play in the Warriors under 20s, and even though that was a great side, the style of play was basically for the whole side to offload and break tackles and keep the ball alive - so it wasn't a team where playmakers got to organise much. This year at the Knights he signed in the hope of playing 5/8, which he wasn't getting to do at the Warriors. He took his opportunities in the off season and was one of the best trainers at the club. He was injured during 9s in Auckland during the pre season and didn't get to play in the early rounds in reserve grade, but as soon as he got the chance to play he showed he has worked on his kicking skills and organising skills. He has basically replaced Michael Dobson in the Knights reserve grade as the main playmaker, and he isn't too different in those skills, but is a far better athlete and defender than Dobson. He got his chance in firstgrade when Mullen was injured, and although he is no Mullen, I thought he went very well and improved every game. He is also playing much better now that he is back in reserve grade. In firstgrade he was making 20-30 tackles a game and missing very few, going for some good runs, and his kicking game was good and improved every game. As far as I can see he is an outstanding athlete with no long term injuries, and he has been training hard and working hard on his skills since he joined the Knights. I don't know why we are letting him go, except maybe because we just signed the NSW halfback and we have the best junior halves in the world (Cogger and Lamb) hitting reserve grade next year, and we have them signed for 4 years.
Looks like Rankins replacement as on the clips he looks similar player, I'd hope that Rankins replacement would be HTW.
Surely if we sign Michaels we don't keep Yeaman, I just hope this these signings are due to our rumoured outside backs signings have fell through.
We will have
Talanoa Michaels Mini Pritchard Carlos
That would leave us with 2 non fed places.
I'd hope we are looking to reduce our overseas players and improve the quality of them.
There just isn't the talent flow from NRL to SL any more, you can only go for the players closing in on retirement or those that aren't very good. Or we could keep a space free on the off chance a superstar puts their goolies in a dogs mouth or has a p1ss in their own.

Roopy is usually well balanced with his appraisal so if we managed to sign him it would look like a great recruitment.
Knights coach, Rick Stone, is saying Carlos is under contract for next year. I have to say, I was surprized to hear he might be going. We have two old and injury prone halves for next year, and young Carlos seems to be a very good backup for them.
Quote from Stone. "Meanwhile, Stone played down speculation linking back-up five-eighth Carlos Tuimavave to English Super League club Hull.
Tuimavave, who has played four NRL games for the Knights, is in the first year of a two-year contract, but there were reports on Wednesday that Hull have offered the 23-year-old former Warriors utility a three-year deal.
‘‘Obviously Carlos is a player who has played some first grade with us this year, and he’s been good for us. Obviously he’s not playing in the main side at the moment with our first-choice halves [Jarrod Mullen and Tyrone Roberts] back in the team and back healthy,’’ he said.
‘‘At the moment he’s at the Knights for this year and next year, and if we hear anything different, we’ll let you know.’’
Dean & HTW are meant to be going full time next season, so that will be a massive step up for them, we still could do with a more established pivot within the squad, look what it's leaving us with now with Leon out, if sneyd was to get injured we would be snookered pal.

Stone`s quote above is hardly convincing though is it, i`ve lost count the amount of times i`ve heard he is currently contracted to us for next year only to find out the player has moved on a few days later

We shouldn't be signing an expensive overseas players just as a back up, along with the two mentioned we have Abdul who can step in for the odd game.
How do we know he's expensive? & Leon been out is not the odd game its possible it will be the whole play offs mate, imho it's better to gain an experienced (ish) player then look to just sling in youth that aren't in full time. Plus Reece is injured. So you've got to take onboard our youth having knocks as well.
