wonder if the SL clubs would show the guts and refuse entry for a newco like the SPL teams are, doubt it.

Small fee now can guarantee you the player you want, as well as his wages. Wait a couple of weeks until all the clubs are going after the same player and his wage demands/offers could go up. Better in the long term.

Fees don't count on the cap - only wages. Players could be sold for next season and fees used to generate the income needed to keep operating this season. In theory at least.

It was the wages I was reffering to. Just shedding wages isn't going to help the Bulls in the short term, they also need the revenue from transfer fees, but I'd imagine the clubs who can afford the fees cannot accommodate any new signings under this seasons cap.

Paying now for a player you'll get next season must be a huge gamble, if you cannot get that player under this seasons cap you cannot register him as your player yet. What if the Bulls are liquidated in the meantime? Your fee has gone but if you haven't registered him your player could be a free agent.

Well not exactly. You may not have registered the player for the current season but he would have already signed a contract with your club.

Sure the RFL will give dispensation.

IF Wires 300k for Bateman is still on the table I assume that will allow them to trade until the end of year, release a couple more to ease the wage bill. Bulls will still be competitive, esp. if injuries improve - prob. even make the 8.

Wonder how close to fitness Crookes is ? Be good to see him finish the season in Black & White.

Why would Moran pay 300k for a player that will cost him sod all next week?
