With Gareth Ellis and Joe Arundel two of the six new faces confirmed for next season, Hull are keeping their powder dry with regard to announcing further new recruits.

It'll be a spoken interview and people tend to speak a little less precisely than they write. Context, intonation etc are stripped away when a journalist writes it up. Add the word 'all' to the first quote, as in 'obviously we can't announce who they all are at present' and it tallies. Not the only way of doing it, but one of the simplest.

Remember, with Watts and Pitts that is 8 new signings by Gentle inside his first season - near enough a third of the squad. As 8 of your top 25 earners have to be club trained, it's changing about half the squad that you're free to change (I know that isn't exactly right, but just for simplicity's sake).

Bateman is Bulls best player but will go to Wire, he'll be a star that lad.

If we weren't already we should be looking at Whitehead and Kopzack. Whithead rumoured to be going to Leeds and Burgess to NRL. Lulia is a very good player who I would also take.

Now that Bulls have gone tits up we should be picking at the carcass. Looking into Bateman, Whitehead, Kopzcack, Burgess, Lulia, etc.

Bateman is massively being hyped up.

I like to sign him, but wouldn't get in a bidding war for him.

I'd look at Kopzack and Whitehead (Tickles long term replacement).

Having read it again I'm pretty sure it is 6 in total. Ellis and Arundel, plus two already signed (Crookes + Forward?) plus two big names that they are confident of getting but not confirmed (Paea + Half Back?).
