If there’s some kind of positive announcement on finances and following on from that a couple of quality signings plucked from seemingly nowhere I could see maybe reaching 5, but into September now there’s no way realistically something like that moves so fast. As things stand we’ll sell a couple of thousand absolute max and it’s hard to argue with anyone who knocks it all on the head.
That's hyperbolic nonsense. For a start we have a bunch of die hard fans who can't bring themselves to criticise anything the club do and will go no matter what. Even if those fans renewed and absolutely no one else did, we would still shift more than 2000. The majority of fans I reckon have lost interest for this season. There's nothing to play for and they are sick of seeing us get a good thrashing every other week. But if they are anything like me they will still be looking forward to the new coach and players coming in and counting down to the start of the season.
Not so sure its hyperbolic nonsense at all. I do think whilst there'll still be fans that once again stump up to renew again mostly out of blind loyalty I wouldn't be surprised to see a good number who simply don't for a number of reasons.
Its not as though fans are going to be struggling to get a ticket for a game if they decide to go on a pay as you go basis and not forgetting the option to simply watch on tv.
Its hard not to argue that a good number of the fan base have grown tired not only on the consistent failure to deliver on promises if they backed the club but also a general feeling of apathy not just about the club but also the general state of the game as a whole.
Think many may well choose to just see how things go and either start by watching on the tv or paying as they go.
Anyone who thinks the majority of the die hards will just continue again may well be in for a rude awakening, personally I do think the club will have done well if they manage to shift 4K passes for next season. The discontent amongst the fan base and I include the die hards should not and can not be ignored as many are feeling cheated and in particular this season which for some will the the straw that broke the camels back.
