winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

He is totally correct IMO, with the exception that importing isn't confined purely to club level.

quick fix mate, every chairman/ceo in super league should hang their head in shame as should the people who say they dont care about international rugby and only care about their club side.

When the players care,i will care.

Have been to test matches all over the country,World cup finals twice, wembley for tests when we had a better team...used to love going to the test matches but not now....the team is picked on who you play for and who you are.

The team needs a total overhaul and maybe a new coach as it looks as though Smith hasnt got a sodding clue.

Put it this way...if someone said to me,what would you sooner have..A England world cup win or C/cup or G/Final win for Hull FC........FC win for me everytime.

Same here mate. I'dve loved an England World Cup win but it would barely hit the radar in the national sporting conscience anyway. The RFL must shoulder the blame for years of failure when we have SL teams with upto 11 imports.

I was over the semi defeat yesterday by mid afternoon whereas a defeat for Hull has me down for the week.

The problems start and begin with our youth system, i know a lot of hard work goes in at grassroots level and a lot of people give up there free time

But in Australia these kids are identified an early ages and put in to there instutiute of sports at there chosen game, with the best coaching and facilites

They also train in warm weather with sun on there back most of the time which can only help devolp there handlings skills and concentration

Where as our youngsters play the game in winter in cold and at times appalling weather conditions, and at times is hard to get a full team to training due to weather parents not wanting to take them out on a cold wet freezing misreable night

1 of the 1st things is we need to changer the amatuer game over to summer to enable youngsters to devolp there handling skills from the off

If we did play in the summer alot of the players support either Rovers or Hull and would most probably leave. I dont think its a problem playing in the winter.

In the grass roots a scholarship system takes place at 12. Then regional and national camps at 13s onwards.

The main difference is rugby is the no1 sport over there whereas here its football. Theres a player i want to sign for the team i coach whos brilliant and would go along way in the game but he loves football. Thats the main difference between England and Australia.

I think it's good for everyone for us to have a strong international side.Used to fill the grounds for G.B. v Australia, impossible to do that now with this team. That's what people running the game want, sell out crowds and i am glad Ricky Stewart is saying what our top dogs won't say.We just need somebody who has the b---s to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and re-structure it from top to bottom
