Sounds like the back is a project one from Union, he had one on trial who scored 3/4 trys in a reserve game, can't remember his name though.
As it stands, either Ashworth, Scott or Lane will probably be in the backrow and one on the bench, Johnston signing allows us to use Scott at centre, Ashworth in the middle and Lane in the reserves.
I'd sign him on a one year deal, still young and has some size.

I agree, Sounds like - back is a convert - Looking for a non quota back rower from aus (any fed trained ones anyone can think of?)
Dan doesn’t usually drop information unless the club are ready to seal the deal, someone coming?

RE: Cator - believe his contract is more than double that of Fash; in these financially troubled times for the club, that surely does not represent value as personally I believe that whilst both players are limited, Fash offers more.
It is another example of poor retention, although apparently other clubs were interested at the time, so the price went up: this was after JC first made the team and was showing up very well, prior to the first of his big injuries.
Would hope that once his contract expires (end of 2024 season?) Cator is offered something commensurate, or departs.

Another poster who has access to the club's payroll

That deal was signed in 2021, he signed a new deal this year, I don't mind Cator as a squad player, but he should be a moderate salary and not be in the 17 next year based on last season's form. Somehow he has to develop an attacking game, as it stands he offers nothing with the ball.
