I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

I know it may only be talk so far from Andy Last as he's not been able to put the players through a game but I've been impressed in what he has said so far. Its clear he & Purtill have seen things that just haven't been working with the players and as such has said he is changing things but keeping it simple and understandable. I like the fact he wants each individual player to be responsible and know their role but also be responsible as a collective. I am quite excited to see what difference it has made to the the way we play with the changes he and Purtill have implemented so far.
He certainly sounds like he wants to have structure to their play both in defence and attack but also flair and support play which has been lacking for far too long. Hopefully Last & Purtill can deliver on that, also pleasing to hear him mention about the importance of improving and increasing our line speed in defence.

Agree with you. Having seen the games yesterday it’s clear we will have to adopt
A different playing style.
If we don’t , then the 6 again restart will kill us.

Il simplify it

When Masi is fit he tends to be in the matchday squad over Brown, I've rarely seen them both named on the bench, if they have been I take it back, but you'd have to show me some stats to back it up. So it would be Brown replacing Matongo no need for another signing as you've put I t, that scenario doesn't even come into the equation. Props would be Taylor, Satae, Bowden, Brown, Savelio/Sao (if needed) Fash, and I'm sure another season on we d have more prospects coming through to supplement them

I'm saying I'd now move Brown above Masi for squad selection, as I've said I don't think Masi is assertive Enough, the stats back that up he has very low carry numbers when he does play.

I also don't think 10 games per season is the sign of a youngish prop who's pulling up trees. When you look at Partington and Bynre for example, there's no comparison.

Brown can be the type of player you've described rather than Masi as Brown offers more and in my eyes has the potential to be a prop who plays 15-20 games a season rather than an average of 10. And 10 not very busy games at that.

As for Savelio when he does play he looks brilliant. He produces the goods, he's also been at the club a lot shorter period than Matongo and has far more Ability, I agree he needs to be on the pitch more, so I'd give him the rest of this season to prove he can keep clear of injurys, if he's constantly injured again , he's another I'd release, as we seem to stockpile players who are injured way too much.

That's my opinion. I stand by it.

I pretty agree with you have wrote.

The only thing I dont agree with is the Masi appearances, I don't think it's fair to take an average over 5 years as the first two years he was 20/21 and was establishing himself in a superb pack (2016/17), probably the best in the league. I think it's a better indication yo to look at how many games ge played in 2018/19, which averages over 20.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

And he had a bad time last year, nothing to do with injuries, so missed a number of months.

I agree but we do have athletic forwards and should be suited to this faster game
It looks to me that Albo will quite rightly get the 6 shirt and i hope we also go for speed and have Ratu on the wing.
One thing i would do is have Connor on the bench.Move Jamie Shaul to 9 if its not working for Houghton or he is given a rest and then move Connor to full back.
Shaul could be devastating in a new role at 9 and i can see clubs using faster elusive players in this role in the future.

To be fair I forgot about the time he had off due to a bereavement so maybe abit unfair me stating 10 game average over five years, I'd say he has to show something this season or I'd still let him go and have Brown given the game time.

Harsh as it is, that's just the nature of the beast.

If a teams discipline isn't great then the bigger lads will tire.

Best play smart and our props will be fine.

Can we play smart and keep the penalty count against us down

Shaul would get monstered at 9, expect to see him have plenty of dummy half runs though

Why?
Its now just another half back position.
Dummy half runs is exactly why he would be outstanding.

Then it's always been a half back position, hookers haven't been hookers for donkey's years (apart from the tackling, of course).
