WARRINGTON WOLVES has followed up its Challenge Cup triumph last summer with something almost as rare – a profit.

It made a marginal profit, of £27,800, in the year to November 2009, compared with a loss of £348,000 a year earlier.

So, 2008 then

I'll hazard a guess here, could it have been the year previous to the one in the link?

I might be sticking my neck out but this quote from the link kinda gave me a clue:

It made a marginal profit, of £27,800, in the year to November 2009, compared with a loss of £348,000 a year earlier.

As I say, it's just a guess

Snap!

I had the misfortune to work in Warrington for a number of years and when I say they could run our red & white cousins close on the "does not compute" stakes, it really is no understatement.

Mind you, remind me where Mr Umbrella Man's company is HQ'd

Silly me, he said AGAIN, Warringtons debt comes from a loan taken out around 4-5 years ago in which time we have spent over half a millon in transfer fees to get the squad to where it is now. With no big transfer fees payed out for next season i expect Warrington to turn out large profits in the future.

The salary cap, overseas quota and the RFL as whole is a bit of a joke in imo and the fact Warrington can sign Monaghan, payoff Hicks and still be under the cap whilst having probably the most high profile squad already backs up what I already thought.

Warrington Sports Holdings has a net debt of £1,908,693 as at 30 November 2009 (which was over £500k down from the prvious year). The bul of this debt is outstanding bank loan used to finance the fit out of the Halliwell Jones Stadium. A minimal amount of this debt is in the form of director's loans which suggests that the club is not dependant upon the wealth of their backer to survive.

At the same time Warrington Sports Hoildings had assets of £13,022,448.

The value of the Warrington Sports Holding Group (which includes the Warrington Rugby Club) is £9,249,517. That is the highewst value for any club in Super League bar none.

All the above is available from companies house at the cost of £1 and indicate that Warrington is at present the most financially viable club and valuable in Super League.

Leeds have net assets of £15.1m, turned in an operating profit of £721k and a profit before tax of £4.2m in 2009. They have accumulated net profits of £12.7m.

Always good to see that every club has their idiots, who enjoy speculating sheer piffle on what individual players are earning or not earning.

Saying that, if Carvell was earning that amount at Hull, and I very much doubt it, it probably explains why you under-acheive so much....I can promise you he won't be on anything like that at Wire, and so he shouldn't be, because he's pretty average.

I am curious though....Many of you seem to be pretty certain on what Warrington players earn....If you are so certain, can you please list the Wire squad and each individual salary, so we can all see how we are busting the cap??

So that puts Warrington behind Leeds. What are Hull's net assets? What is the value of director's loans at Hull?

On the other hand, we've made a decent profit for each of the last 5 years off the back of winning nowt and without a wealthy backer. I know which company is being better managed.

Well managed??.....Throwing daft money at injury riddled, past it scrum halves isn't exactly the best way to spend all your profits....

If we are all having a go at speculating on player's salaries, then I'm venturing that Sean Long will be on very close to what the highest earner is on at Wire.....And if you care to disagree, I'd suggest that even Long isn't daft enough to move to Humberside for anything less.
