Let’s be honest,the only person Watson rates is himself.Russell has got 2fullbacks ahead of him at the moment and he may be a bit peeved.Isn’t he a goal kicker as well?

It's a move that comes with benefits and I could see why he would be signed, but it wouldn't pariculary excite me.

The other thing is that mainly Hudds have been playing a really structured game, maybe a bit more freedom under Smith would bring his game out.

I have seen games when he's been excellent, played what he saw and made things happen. I have also seen him be awful and make Dwyer type decisions, but, he is a very competent kicker and has a bit of pace too, so although it wouldn't ignite fervour for an influx of new pass sales, it could be our best option, if we can use the quota spot on a good backrow forward.

Russell would be a solid stop gap option and potentially free up a quota spot for elsewhere (back row).

Walker, Hoy, Truey, Smith, Russel, litten as our 1,6,7 pivots wouldn’t be a bad option for next season.

2016 we didn’t exactly have a fantastic/consistent half partnership but looked good behind a strong pack. Perhaps Russell and quota back rower would be a smart move.

We then have Hoy & Carlos’ quota spots to play with for a hooker and a 7 if needed

Where did this rumour actually come from though.

Im trying to decipher how playing academy products with championship experiance , and experiance in the position is "just sticking anyone" into the position. Now if id of suggested i dunno darnell macintosh fair does, bizarre reply to someone who disagreed with you, must do better.

The suggestions to buy players who have past drinking culture problems as well as mentality problems is ridiculous, its been our downfall yet some fans are clamouring for more of the same, is it just poor intelligence ? As i find it bizarre

Id take olly russell, he has skills in the position we need, primarily his kicking game and abit of pace. Wouldnt be the worst signing in the world, wouldnt break the bank and would maybe allow us to spend big on the second row

Wonder who the 5th NRL player will be? An English player, someone like Sutton?

Or are we losing Carlos/Hoy to accommodate one?
