I'd love a Shaun Wane and Lingard combination - but Wane isn't leaving the England, or Wigan, roles anytime soon.

Surprised they cared enough to argue

Looked like they couldn’t be bothered to show any of that on the pitch?

If this is indeed true then again it shows for me that Hodgson is too nice or too weak to be able to take charge, stamp his authority and in still the required discipline within the squad and I don't just mean discipline as in on the pitch during a game.

I'd have been open to giving Hodgson more time had he either come with a track record that showed he had the ability to do the job required or failing that shown that he could and had at least put things like structure, strategy in place within the club in particular the first team. Sadly there is none of that and whilst admittedly he has had a lot of injuries within the squad for me he has failed to deal with these effectively and carries on repeating the same things that just do not nor have not worked or shown any sign of working more out of hope than anything.
Lets be honest we are nearly at the end of his 2nd season and we are further back now than ever before and it just seems to me there is no real plan, structure or strategy in place, just not convinced he is the man for the job at all no matter how much time he's given.

Easy to be wise after the event but should have gone for Fitzgibbon a couple of years ago.

He has done wonders at Cronulla in a short space of time.

Wouldn’t be averse to Mick Potter?

I don't think we could've realistically got Fitzy. He was probably the most wanted assistant at the time. He waited for Cronulla job to pop up. I think he knocked back the SGI job back a year previous.

He's done v well at Cronulla, they've picked up some good buys too. Hynes, McInnes and Finucane.

John Morris? But he was seen as too nice and couldn't lift Cronulla, hence why they got Fitzy in

Sack Hodgson and bring in who exactly? McNamara? No coach can fail with the squad, finances and lifestyle in the south of France, and he achieved sod all before his one challenge cup. Some wanted Andy Last? Another “nice guy”.Glaringly obvious that quite a few players need to be moved on,but if they are from Hull some want to keep them.Too many big earners who haven’t provided value for money over the past 3/4 years, but let’s keep them cos they are “one of our own”.Taylor Houghton Gale Griffin (Shaul/Bowden) can all go for me,and I would seriously look at the futures of Carlos Savelio Lane and Jake due to injuries, form and sulks.Let Hodgson continue the clearout of the slackers and ego warriors, correctly bring the average age of the squad down as shown previously with keeping Sika and Mini a year too long hampered us,though some wanted to keep Mau even though he’s 35 next year and spent most of this year on the treatment table

I think at the moment the club are hiding behind the state of flux, that is called the “new direction “.
Stick with us, we’re going in a new direction. It will come good and the future is golden.

Trouble is, Hodgson does not seem to have improved this set of players in any way. No identity in how they play. Interchanges and bench selection has been poor. What do we do, only judge a coach when he has 30 players only he has hand picked?

It feels different this time though. Supporters have had enough. Apathy has kicked in, which is worse than anything.
We’ve gone from two years of Covid straight into a cost of living crisis. People need alleviation from these worries and Rugby doesn’t offer this at the moment.

I’d happily walk away from a defeat if I’ve seen effort and entertainment. Now I’m just staying to the end to avoid the rush.

The whole club is just a complete and utter shambles isn't it.
No leaders off and on the pitch.
Like many, i'm completely at the end of my tether with Hull FC.

I think it's the constant transition phases that every coach has promised that we're sick of. Agar rebuilding from Sharp, Gentle from Agar, Radford from Gentle, Last from Radford, Hodgson from Last / Radford...the last coach that came in and made an instant impact was Peter Sharp, came in mid season and took us on a 13 game winning streak and to our only grand final in the same season...without a wholesale change to the squad or a transition phrase. Coaches can have an instant impact if their culture they instil is right.

"In any kind of weather" has been a very successful marketing tool by the club to try guilt us into keeping on going in tough times, but even that seems to be wearing thin now. As others have said, before I'd get annoyed after a bad loss, now I'm just numb to it all. I felt worse for Toulouse losing to Wire on Thursday than I did seeing us on the wrong end of a 60 point defeat for the third time this season on Sunday because a) I've come to expect it and b) the club don't seem to rectify it. Pearson promised when he took over we wouldn't see the big defeats against us again...we've had it 3 times this year. We let one player scored seven tries past us a few weeks ago. Seven.

I made the call on monday to end my rolling monthly subsription, after 30 years I am no longer a member. Its not quite turning my back on the club but with everything in this world rising I have better things to spend 30 quid a month on. Ill pick and choose my games from now on. I pay to watch Hull FC play and for far too long I have just seen opposition play.

I for one understand, entirely, with your reasoning but I just can’t bring myself to do it

To be honest I was disillusioned at the end of last season with yet another failed season and the usual drop of in performance mid season which has become the norm. However I renewed as usual out of habit and as it was Hodgsons first season so gave him the benefit of doubt however this season for me has been a step backwards even with the extra time he's had to right the wrongs of last season yet the same glaring mistakes and issues are there to see in full view with no sign of being resolved or rectified.
I had hoped this season would be different, whilst I didn't expect to be challenging the top 2, I expected the team to be more like a team and performances reflect that and be improved. Sadly this hasn't been the case and once again the shambolic and pitiful performances after the mid point of the season are back.
After the Wakey game I decided that would be my last away game until things improved and then decided I would wait until the season was done before deciding to renew or not after the Huddersfield game but after the St's game I am now pretty much 90% decided on not renewing anymore.
Ironically it could be a Wakey game again that hammers the final nail in my decision.
Just don't see any change happening in terms of results under Hodgson no matter what players are here next season as for me he hasn't shown anything to say he is a capable Head Coach as he has got no improvement out of the players either individually or collectively as a group.
