welcome to hull fc mr gentle, great news and shows serious intent from mr pearson, for the first time in a long time i feel like i am actually looking forward to a season
Apart from his coaching ability, it seems he will be very well connected with current top NRL players, through being assistant coach to Australia, which can't harm our recruitment chances at all !

Indeed , If one of the three overseas players is now getting cold feet , Then a replacement shouldn't be a problem with his and Bombers contacts.
Here's hoping that he can have the same impact that Brian Smith had in 1988 (but taking us a one step further to the very top of the game).
I know we've had false dawns before (too many for some of us) but I'm with everyone else on here, this really does have the feel of potentially something special about to happen. There is still a great deal of hard work to be done. The first team squad needs some major surgery if we are to truly compete for silverware (as evidenced last Friday night) but for the first time in a number of years the important positions at the club are being held by people with a drive, vision and ambition to succeed at the highest level
The Pearson/McRae/Gentle era begins today, let's hope it is the first steps on the road which leads to our ultimate dream of FC as the number one side in British RL. Come on the mighty Black & Whites (today, tomorrow and forever).
I wonder how long McRae has been on board really . Maybe looking into it to far but gentle was linked with Salford a while ago , wonder if bomber had a quiet word with him then to knock back Salford and wait for hull !

I was talking about that with someone at work this morning. I get the feeling that McRae has been working for the club, unofficially, for a number of weeks now, possibly since just after Pearson took over. Certain events seemed to have happened just a little too quickly this last week without there being some kind of input from Shaun.
I doubt anyone on here believes the Agar to Wakefield/Gentle to FC deals have just convienently fallen into place in the few days which have passed since the announcement of McRae's return to FC. Pearson was unlikely to make any major rugby based decisions on his own before he appointed his DOR. So, to my eyes, it would seem that Shaun probably started his new role a while back, at least in terms of policy decisions.
