Says in RL Media he was signing a 3 year deal with us but then got poached by Warrington who he has opted for, we probably haven't heard anything because a deal has not yet been sorted for the fee.
He was good last year (In an appalling side) and just about deserved his England spot, but overall in his time at Hull, he has been disappointing, two average season and two better ones. He certainly hasn't been outstanding, he doesn't score trys or sets them up, rarely makes a break either, he works hard and has good defence, but in his time as Hull, that's about it, I've seen more from Abdul (Who isn't ready to play LF full time) last season that I saw from Westerman last year.
And yet both Wire and Leeds were after him, with Wire apparently winning out.
Not bad for a 'bang average' player. Still - neither of their coaches knows as much about players as some of our fans, eh?
people make me laugh on here, half the contributors on this forum slag westy off week in week out saying it was 150k wasted
now we look to be selling him, people, some who criticised his signing too i bet are having a go at adam pearson for selling
now im a fan of westerman, i will be disappointed to see him go, but sport is a buisness and atm we are not doing great financial wise, blame pearson, blame the fans for not renewing passes, ateod our clubs survival is the main priority, whether that is pass sales or selling players

so did wire have permission to approach westerman before he was offered the 3 year deal?
if he had a year remaining on his contract andwe offered him another, surely Adam wont have allowed another club to offer a contract?

Maybe they think they can turn him into a great player, we haven't over ther past 4 years for whatever reason and aren't in the position due lack of success to wait and find out. Leeds were after Houghton, who a lot of fans think isn't good enough. Just because these are so called top clubs doesn't mean they always sign the right players or don't make mistakes when it comes to recruitment, look at Lauaki who signed a 4 year deal with Wigan.
Maybe he will prove me and others wrong, but he will have to improve his attacking game massively and become more consistent. I honestly think they are signing him on reputation only.

So do we keep him for another year, hoping he will finally come good after 4 years and then let him go for free or do we sell him for a large fee and let players play LF who will do a more effective job for the club.
Not a criticism Dave, but I see this comment a lot about some of our emerging players. At what point do they become ready?
I would have thought that having being drip fed into the team then given a decent run of matches at the end where it was not win at all costs was the ideal preparation to train the house down in the off season and come back demanding a position in the starting line up.

Really looking forward to seeing Adam explain this one away.
And, if the intention was to keep Westerman all along, presumably the club now has a hefty chunk of salary cap to play with, not to mention a six-figure transfer fee!
In a salary cap sport I guess we should be asking does his salary reflect what he gives us on the pitch? I'd suggest baring 1 season he has been poor value for money. I'd be very disappointed if we signed him on a longer and improved contract

Anyone else not totally convinced?
This is why I mentioned those who are over analysing this situation. Why the big interest in how the owner is going to explain this? What exactly are you not convinced about?
I was under the impression that we were supposed to support the club, not look for ways to attack it
