He is still making substitutions that begger belief and we do slip back into old habits very easliy. OK the offence has improved no end with the injection of Obst and Gleeson.

Seven times in the KR game, long kicked the same kick to Whiting we would not have got away with that with many of the top teams.

I am as always more then willing to be proved wrong, please

Obst was was with the team when we lost against Leeds, Hudds, Wigan, Wakey, Cas and Catalans.

I agree he's improved our offence, but Gleeson for me is the signing who has strengthened our team the most. So far, anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? Why would be utilitse that tactic against other team when that tactic was specifically designed to test a weakness in Rovers side (Whiting being alot taller than Latus). It wasn't just the kicking either, alot of set moves went down that side. Overall, it resulted in 2 tries, and three tries literally inches away saved by some first class defending.

His substitutions haven't been bad lately either, he coped pretty well last week when Obst & Yeaman went off after 15 minutes. Will Sharp coming on at Warrington seemed to be a masterstroke.

At the moment it's pretty difficult to fault the guy on anything, let's hope it continues.

Whatever tactics he used against KR were clearly the right one's we won the game!!

What has pleased me since it became apparent the fans were dissatisfied is the type of rugby we have played, very entertaining which is also proving very effective....

Bit early to bring this thread back I think. A few more wins and top 5 and I'll give you a hand doing it mind - there's plenty more

Still want him gone at the moment, don't think he is the man to take us forward.

We have been lucky recently with the fixtures and if you take out the Warrington game you should be expecting to beat

Rovers (Awful at the moment)
Saints at home (understrength)
Oldham
Salford (Bit of a bogey team but a team we should be beating)

We are also fortunate with our upcoming run of fixtures

Widnes - No disrespect to them but we should have way too much class for them tomorrow
Hudds (Home) Tough one but a game we should be looking to win at home (Hardest of the coming months games)
Rovers (Away) Poor team at present, so we should be beating them, although anything can and usually does happen in derby games
Quins (Home) Another team who are pretty dire after a bright start
Bradford - Same as quins but no bright start
Wakey - Lost big names this year and not one we should lose

July is the big month with 3 of the top sides to play in Saints, Leeds & Wigan. If Saints have players back they will be a real test.

July is the month were Agar has to show he can make us into a top team and give the fans real belief we have turned the corner.

i still want a top name coach at hull, its the only thing missing however, if it turned out that it was a case of us clicking and we keep winning by playing good rugby and challenge for honours under agar then i would be open to a change of mind. at the miniute i'm hoping that the level of coaching at hull remains my biggest concern for the club tbh

Still not good enough. the only result above and beyond what we would have expected so far this season is wire away. When you factor in the games we have lost which we would have expected to win then we're behind where we should be

Re: Agar Out! : Fri May 20, 2011 4:12 pm
We look better, are playing better , defending better and moving slowly up the table ready for a gallop at the business end of the season and on a run at the CC .. all is well yet many are still not happy ...
all in the day of an FC coach no doubt but given the recent performances i am sure that opposition coaches do not see us as a gift points offer any more

Not many saying they are not happy, just that they are not convinced we have turned the corner.

I think we have played some better rugby over the last 5 games, passed it about a lot more freely and looked very fluid at times. Yet other times in games we have reverted to our old ways. But that is not enough to convince me he is the man for the job.

Hadn't looked at the fixtures but a good opportunity to pick up 10 points in the next 5 games. Any less than 8 would be disappointing
