5. Calculating the Salary Cap Value of a Player
5.1 The “Salary Cap Value” of a Player is the total sum of the Gross payments and
other benefits that are paid or payable by a Club or Accrue (or are deemed to Accrue,
in accordance with this Clause 5) to the Player in the relevant Salary Cap Year,
whether pursuant to a Playing Contract or other arrangement (verbal or otherwise), in
consideration for or otherwise on account of the Player’s provision of playing (or
related) services to the Club in that Salary Cap Year.
Comment to Clause 5.1: By way of example only (and without limitation), a Player’s grant to
his Club of the right to use his name or image or other attributes for commercial and/or
promotional purposes is a service ‘related’ to the playing services he provides to the Club and
any payments made by the Club to the Player in consideration of the same must therefore be
treated as part of the Salary Cap Value of that Player.
A. General Principles
5.2 Wherever salary or other benefits are expressed as being paid, payable or Accruing:
5.2.1 “to a Player”, such expression will be deemed to include payments that are
paid, payable or Accrue:
(a) to the Player himself;
(b) for the benefit of the Player;
(c) to, or for the benefit of, the spouse, partner, relative or trustee of the
Player;
(d) to, or for the benefit of, any person or business entity associated

Rovers don't need to pay transfer fees because they dont leave it till 6 weeks before start of the season to decide who and what they want in they're team, they plan it in advance were as hull are panic buying first it's chase now it's Sammut they would take bob the builder if he was available after all he can fix it ......

Ah so now you've made yourself look stupid by not grasping a simple concept you're trying to divert the attention to FCs inability to sign a halfback? Even then you're facts are wrong. We paid a tranfer fee for Westerman some 7 or 8 weeks ago in November... not last minute. We've also been looking for a halfback for the same amount of time... again not last minute.

Anyway, how can we afford to pay another transfer fee when our salary cap is almost spent?

Indeed. At least all of our players who should be pre-season training are doing so. Mind you if pre season training camp was a wet weekend twin room spectacular in a Manc travelodge I'd stay in Tonga as well .
