I thought we'd here more from the club too, be it a re signing or a new player.

The £5 key worker scheme is good, but I thought we'd do more to try and get people in.

Contact the people who had passes in 2020 but didn't renew and offer them discounted tickets?

We need to get back as many lost fans as possible.

Giving away cheap tickets never works medium or long term, never has and never will. it's a loss the club/Pearson can ill afford, either people want to spend the money to watch a game and support the club or they don't. In these times I think giving away cheap tickets is not the right thing to do.
IMHO the club (and RL as a whole) should stop devaluing the sport and not offer any discounts at any events excepting for bulk purchasing a season/full membership or when you pay a fee in advance for that to be used in exchange for a discounted ticket with a general membership
I'd go even further and say 'OAP' discounts should be removed, the % of full price ticket payers bracket on low incomes/lower disposible income are significantly higher than that in the non working/'OAP' age bracket.
If we're offering discounts on the basis of affordability/to encourage punters through the gate, it should be based on income not because you happen to be over a certain age, certainly no discounts because you happen to work for a certain organisation or government department.

Sounds like they are open:

I agree that discounted tickets is a failed venture, it devalues the membership and your only selling the tickets to the same people. However 30 quid is steep for East stand and 28 for south, given the next home game is on monday id imagine some people will either pick one or watch both on TV.

The club need to be careful everyone has a limit, I want to go to every game but money dictates otherwise and I have a fairly good paid job.

I'll have to disagree with you there.

I know 2 key workers who didn't go last season but were regulars the season before taking advantage of this offer.
The performance on the field will dictate how many of these people will come back either way you can't knock the club for trying to attract a bigger crowd and increase revenue streams.

I also don't feel it devalues the membership.
I'm happy to have my pass and support the club in their attempt to increase the fan base through what has been unprecedented times.

Whilst us die hards are happy to do so, I feel it stops alot making the step up.

Big game tomorrow for a club that needs money, should the game be marketed a bit more, build up some hype.

Connor and a couple of other contracr renewals would help.

The club can only do so much, right now people are distracted by the Olympics, skint from the Euros nights out, there's Hundred Cricket on, Football friendlies starting, nightclubs and gigs are back...lots of competition for places to go and things to watch on TV.

RL is hardly hot properly right now, we have the ongoing World Cup debacle, games are being played on different nights of the week, we seem to be the only sport cancelling games due to Covid, the standard of play in SL is getting worse and even as a diehard fan I'm rapidly losing interest in the sport.

Crossing my fingers we pull a big performance out the bag and that boosts the gate for the games that are left.

Some dreadful excuses there

Distracted by the olympics I'd say the opposite it's hard to truly follow it when half the stuff is during the night majority of the country won't watch highlights the next day and of course Alot of big athletes have pulled out so this will be the least valued Olympics in this country for a long time

As is friendlys how many people go to a city friendly? Hardly any

Cricket....

Can you explain your thinking on that?
I really do not see how x player getting a renewed contract has any impact on who wants to go to a match after that news is released. It's not like we are signing say Tadesco, Cleary and Papalii and it's first game of the season with the anticipation of the new signings, for that I'd go out my way t get to the first game, a mid season contract renewal of anyone on our books, I really can't see it.

Positive news and media exposure if re-signing Connor would certainly encourage a few people to come, especially after last weeks performance and those that where 50/50 about coming.

You only have to look at the hype the Kelly resigning had at the game a few years ago.

Hopefully they will do something similar pre match tonight.
