I find it interesting that the supposed Rovers source in the Sun is complaining about the council's lack of support. The Council have so far borrowed £6m from Central government and underwritten Rovers repayments on the North Stand part (around £2m) in case of default. They've signed up to a Hull Training centre in the North Stand at Craven Park, when realistically there are more obvious locations for an East Hull training facility which have better transport links and are more densely populated. They have organised the application for ERDF funding of £2.5m for the balance of cash required. On top of repurchasing the freehold of Craven Park and organising a peppercorn rent. I don't see why Rovers should be indignant about any lack of support at all.
Perhaps Hudgell and Crossland are weary of funding ongoing losses.
