What staggers me is that we were indifferent and we stayed rooted to 8th spot and now even though we're winning more than losing we're also still glued to 8th spot. To remain in the same spot for 15 (I think that's about right) or so rounds without budging from 8th spot is a strange 'achievement' in itself.
What these stats show is that we are what's known in horse racing circles as flat track bullies. Beating up on poorer sides loses its effect if you then loser to the better sides.
For the club to include Challenge Cup games when totting up scores is a bit naff - what next? Friendlies? U20s games?
As for the question earlier about do you want entertainment or wins, I've evolved as I've got older and I now want entertainment. I walked out of the Good Friday derby with score at 22-18 as I was sick of the fact we couldn't put away the worst team Rovers have put out against us in the SL era....and haven't been back since.
I actually saw more losses than wins in 2005 yet happily made the 60 miles round trip from Cleethorpes whenever work allowed - I was always entertained back then, even with the defeats (Wigan and Bradford spring to mind.) Now I live in Hessle and even a 6 mile round trip seems too far given the fact at the start of the season the only time I was entertained was the Bradford (34-24) game. I'm normally one for supporting a manager for a long period of time (Alex Ferguson being the best example of the results of giving a manager time) but I honestly think Agar is holding the team back. Maybe I'm wrong to think that but I know I'm not alone in that view.
