I think Wardles a smart signing, a risk, but like Savelio (whose injury reckon was much worst) maybe worth taking.

Would be cheap and offer good cover in the centre and backrow.

This is as long as he is he isnt our main signing.

If we sign peats, we still have one more quota spot, do we use it on a prop or halfback?

I'd be surprised if Sneyd was moved out this season and I can't see him sitting in the stands so I'd sign another prop. The Wardle signing makes more sense now if Fonua does indeed leave.

The Reynolds situation is an interesting one. I like him he definitely gives the team a spark but at his age and his injury record it may be better if he decides to retire so we can look for someone else.

All this speculation about how we utilise quota spots may be immaterial if we haven't got enough cash.

Think we need a new halfback and as you say Sneyd is unlikely to be doing, so I'd look to move on Reynolds. I love his effort and energy, but he still doesnt create enough and is injury prone. I can't remember a time when he made a break this year.

If we stick with Sneyd we need a pacy runner at 6.

One more than Savelio played the season before we signed him.

Its certainly risk, but he will be a squad player and worth a risk.

It all depends n who else we sign.

I hope Wardke to be our 4th signing

Does anyone actually know if Fonua has actually been released from the final year of his contract, would imagine if he has hooker (probably Peats and an overseas prop would fill our quota spots

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

If fit then Wardle would be a decent signing but its the IF that's the biggest issue so unless any deal reflects the risk then we'd be stupid to give him a deal. We've already got the likes of Bowden, Taylor and Matongo that have regularly struggled to make match days or get any sort of run of games due to constant injury issues over the past two seasons.

If its true that Fonua has gone then its a sad way for him to leave but sadly it doesn't change the fact it was a poor signing by Radford at the time as most said at the time as had more important areas of the squad that needed addressing.

Hardly smart Dave cheap or not its a salary.
Remember Savelio hardly pulled up trees in his first season back from injury and we cant afford the luxury of another player coming back from long term injury and needing the first season to bed in.
We should stay away from players with long term injury problems. Our in house experience with Taylor Bowden and Masi should be the red light needed.
My concern is we start signing players to try and make a point rather then going for quality.
Adam Pearson once again said he will act but signing players simply because they are available is the wrong policy at this time of the year.
A big front row is definitely needed but whilst others like yourself and the club now seem focused on a change at nine its half back we need to change.
Dancing queen Sneyd is the major problem to our attack in the opposition 20.It cant just be fans who see this but i cant see the club trying to move him on so the focus has to be a running 6 if Reynolds retires.
I would go for tweaks this season and make the real changes for 2023 when the club have a lot more players off contract.

Difference between Savelio and Wardle, is Savelio was 24 when he had a bad knee injury
Wardle is now 30...
Pay as you play, fine... anything more than that, its another Adam Dykes scenario.....
IMO..

Fonua definitely gone.

Hearing JJ, Bowden, Matongo, Sneyd, Reynolds and possibly Savelio all up for the chop been offered out or looking to let go.

Don't think any are surprises.
