We were very ordinary at best, hard to say who shone for us.I dont understand why parcell didnt come on till 50 odd mins and he was probably our best player again. :thumb:

Fair post Des, agree with everything you said, Parcell worries me whe he is on, surprised he isn't playing more minutes.

In the land of wishful thinking once more. Patiently waiting for our time to finally arrive.

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.

I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

A man who lives in hell can still aspire to heaven.

Firstly, well done for coming on here and fronting up, never easy after a derby loss as you run the risk of abuse!

Your team needs a spark from somewhere/someone. You're resembling us these past few years when our seasons just drifted away to nothing with some abject displays as the year wore on.

If you lose the Cup semi, then I think it will deflate you for the remainder of the year. It will be difficult to pick yourselves back up and make a push for the six.
If, on the other hand, you beat Wigan, I then reckon Wembley will become a distraction, the be-all and end-all of the year for you. Trust us, we know that scenario better than most!

Either way, I think the last nine SL games may turn into a bit of a slog for you. From what I've seen these past two weeks, there doesn't seem to be much spare energy in your team. You look the polar opposite from March/April time.

Fair assessment Des.
Was glad Parcell wasn’t on for a long period. Strange decision. Brett Hodgsonesque!

Nine games still remaining and most of them are certainly winnable, which would put us somewhere in the mix come late September. Question is, can we maintain a reasonably high performance standard enough to pinch a play-off spot? I'm still not wholly convinced we will, but at least we have some hope which is more than we could have said after Good Friday.

7 of 9 should be enough, but it is a big ask. If Wakey were gone and Cas safe it’d look a slightly less narrow path, but they’ll be scrapping points for a few weeks yet most probably. 6 of 9 is still a decent shot but with your pd you’d probably need to run up big scores a couple of times and avoid any tonkings.

BP1 wrote:
As for our nearest and dearest, they look like they are running on empty based on their last two performances. That early season spark has definitely disappeared somewhere, think it's Wembley or bust for them in 2023.

Yeah, it sounds that way. This could be a mid-season slump and we end strongly, but that’s a bit like watching Hamlet and hoping everybody survives. More likely it is where Willie Peters gradually loses his belief and realises what SL is. I remember poor Craig Sandercock’s face as it gradually sank in.

BP1 wrote:
Right now, I'd rate our chances of being in the six better than theirs, which is some turnaround from when we last crossed swords with them.

Yeah, very possibly. The more immediate concern is if we spring a surprise in the cup semi-final, is that even a cause for celebration? I can take a lot… but a patched up Rovers team vs Saints (or even Leigh!) in the final, that brings on a bit of a cold sweat.

Remember when Keith said all Rovers halfbacks were better than Clifford, not only is he better than any of their halfbacks, he is also better than any of their fullbacks.

Imagine the abuse Hoy would have taken on social media if he misses that tackle of Swift like Walker did.

I thought Walker did well one try and one try assist.

It really doesn't matter how you win there as long as you do and put one over the games richest Club, yes a lot went wrong but the effort and wanting could not be faulted.
For me I'm disappointed with Tumavavie, perhaps it's the skipper duties weighing too heavily but although he still puts in 100% he loses too much ball and makes some bad reads too
. However has there been a better performance by Danny Houghton and as always in a Derby he gave his all but his new freer roll seems to be suiting him down to the grown and he's making a fool of all those who were calling for his head earlier in the season. However on a personal note it's a sad reflection that as the final hooter went all I could think was thank goodness at least it will be quiet on our board this week.

Don't let Barista hear that, she'll be laughing again.
At least she's been true to form posting Rovers as favourites again

I do agree with you on Carlos though. Sutty is our most effective centre and Cam is developing well and has pace.

Jake Trueman made 35 tackles (missed 4). Unreal defensive effort for a half.
